  1. Great location!
  2. The atmosphere is cozy and slightly loud.
  3. Cozy, fresh fish, great location
  4. Things are pretty pricey, considering the fact that the atmosphere and decor aren't the best.
  5. The sushi was good(too much sauces), they are on the pricier side for the portion, not much ambience ( much more like a casual Japanese diner) cute waitress but very slow and constantly forgetfulor clueless!

  17. recommend making a reservation and though you may have to wait a few extra minutes, the food is incredible and well worth the wait.
  18. Their Stuffed Squid appetizer is truly unique and is a great start to any meal.
  19. The sushi rolls are very good, but it's not somewhere you would go for a quiet dinner.

Busy Little Spot

by urthygirl

I had met for a business dinner about amonth ago. This little spot was so packet that the people next to us sneazed so we had to say "Bless you". The sushi was good(too much sauces), they are on the pricier side for the portion, not much ambience ( much more like a casual Japanese diner) cute waitress but very slow and constantly forgetfulor clueless!

Overall, this place is great for a small bite and not for a business meeting. I would recommend this place for lunch spot. Great location!

  • Pros: good location, metered parking structure located in back
  • Cons: small saucey sushi, loud, slow forgetful service

Rolls are good, always busy

by foodie114

This is a great place to stop when you're en route somewhere. The tables are close together and it's always noisy and busy. The sushi rolls are very good, but it's not somewhere you would go for a quiet dinner. Things are pretty pricey, considering the fact that the atmosphere and decor aren't the best.

  • Pros: Sushi rolls
  • Cons: Busy/noisy, pricey

They Tried To Make Me Go To Yu & Mi and I said NOOO NOOO NOOO!!!!

by LAreviewsforDATass

Let me begin by saying that I am not hating on Yu and Mi one bit. This place is what it is, people enjoy it, so good for them. I'm just being 100% honest. I'm actually glad that it is around because all it makes all the good sushi places in town less crowded and hence easier to get a table.

To anyone who says this place has "The Best Sushi Ever," it is painfully evident that you don't know sushi from Starkist Canned Tuna. I mean...really. The fact that this place can take a lackluster spicy tuna roll, cover the top with some crunchy green paste, tack on a $15 pricetag and call it "Spicy Tuna #2" is just outrageous to me. Not just that, but if you have any allergies to dairy, I would steer clear. Pretty much every roll has is served swimming in a cream sauce of some sort and after awhile its just like, enough already with the damn sauces! In addition, if you ever sit at the bar don't miss the signs that are posted saying that they use imitation crab in all of their rolls. IMITATION CRAB? Are you joking? What is this, the sushi counter at Vons? Gimme a break. If you're looking for dishes swimming in creamy sauces to mask the poor quality of the actual fish, this is the perfect place to go. However, if you are looking for a genuine sushi experience with fish that is fresh, I would suggest going elsewhere.

  • Pros: The Fact That This Place Exists Frees Up Space at REAL Sushi Bars

Yum Rolls, bad hostessing services

by tralaladida

The rolls are really fresh and tasty, and the prices are very reasonable for being right in the heart of Beverly Hills. It's true that you have to wait, but whoever suggested making a reservation is misinformed, because they NEVER. EVER. EVER. answer the phone. Try the blue crab and spicy lobster handrolls!

  • Pros: Good specialty rolls, convenient location, celeb-watching in small environment
  • Cons: No service, long wait, pushy crowds
5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

The BEST sushi anywhere!!!

by big_boo

By far... the best sushi anywhere!!! All those high priced spots on La Cienega and around LA are no comparison to the excellent quality and presentation that Yu & Mi Sushi have to offer. They have ORIGINAL rolls and ABSOLUTELY use NO MSG in the flavoring of their sauces used on their specialty rolls... I made sure to ask for my Mom when ordering since she is allergic to it. Chef Ted is a refreshing change from the normal Sushi chefs that wants you in and out of their restaurants within 15 minutes. His rolls, like the El Nino, MJ and Nicky are some of the best tasting roll you'll ever try! Their Stuffed Squid appetizer is truly unique and is a great start to any meal. The seared Toro or seared Albacore sushi will melt in your mouth... trust me! I recommend making a reservation and though you may have to wait a few extra minutes, the food is incredible and well worth the wait. By the way... did I mention all the celebs that frequent Yu & Mi.

  • Pros: Incredbily fresh sushi! Great prices! Great variety!
  • Cons: Wait time can be long if you dont make a reservation.
