great service, great good food, love date place, authentic korean food, fun great dining atmosphere, very attentive waiter, great overall experience
Our favorite place in town.
For sure our favorite place in town.
There is a grill in the middle of the table and you cook your own food. Takes about 5min, it is super cool.
Service is awesome, very professional, waiters are on top of it.
Highly recommend going during happy hour (everything half off). The kids love this place, always bugging to go. Its the birthday choice for out teenager.
If we go during happy hour we drop about $50 - $60 for the four of us (including 30-35% tip).

Loved it. Definitely recommended something different nice and modern waitress very attentive
Poor Food Standards.. I got FOOD POISONING here. You can't get sick from undercooked beef so it must be either their sanitation standards or improper food storage. I skipped lunch before I came, so it couldn't have been anything else I ate that day. On top of it all, the waiter insisted that we pay. I was too sick to know that. Otherwise I would've puked on him to make my point. Bad food and rude staff. F- in my book.
Favorite Place to Eat. I have been a customer of Gyu-Kaku for about a year now. I can not get over their great food and service. Korean BBQ is a great invention and very creative. I will continue being their customer for the times to come. Give it a try you will not regret it.
Great place for a romanic date.. I Like this place. its just like this place i go to in culver city called GYENARI. which i LOVE. there similar but im a fan of korean.
LOVE IT!. I LOVE this place! This is always a go-to favorite of mine with friends or out of town guests. The food is high quality, and since you cook it yourself at the table you have control over how rare or well done you like it. I haven't had one dish here that I did not like. Great sake selection - the flavored sake is REALLY good (don't know the name, ask for it). The atmosphere is fun fun fun and the service staff is smiley and attentive. You really do need a reservation as the space is small, and the grill in the middle of the table makes it rather warm (don't wear heavy sweaters!). I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for a date or a large group of friends.
Great Japanese BBQ. If you are looking for high quality Japanese BBQ, then this is the place for you. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu, and you cannot go wrong. The vegetables are always fresh and the meat is top quality. Bear in mind though, with the quality comes a price. A person can expect to spend around $50 a person on a meal. It is worth it though. The service and the food are always top notch.
Over priced food, digusting small portions, fake Kobe, msg overload,.
Hello everyone
Okay people this is korean BBQ sold at a higher price and smaller portions so please just go to any korean bbq in koreatown it will taste 10 times better and you'll actually get full for a lot less, wouldnt you rather go some place authentic its korean food why go to a Japanese restaurant.
I know someone that use to prep food at GYU KAKU and they even put MSG in the rice to make it taste better and Glisten(pointless I know)...also please note the HIGHLY price "kobe" beef on the menu is not fully kobe it is half kobe half cow, just ask any manager next time you go there. Service is okay. Food tastes okay but wouldnt anything taste great if you added that much msg and who knows what else. I always use to get stomach aches after eating here, I don't go here anymore and wouldn't recommend it.

LOVES IT! How Can You Not?!. After being a gyu kaku regular, I hadn?t been to the one in Beverly hills for quite a while. I was surprised to see that they had a new decor considering all the newer built ones were looking much better than this one but now they are definitely on top. our waiter forgot my cocktail and I never cared to mention it and it was not on our bill. So that aggravated me because I was in denial that he really forgot so I just was over it. My favorite is the harami miso I always get 2 orders of that and never get any other type of meat dish because I?ve tried the others before and never liked them. I really like the original bimbiya but I get it w/o seaweed I find that it tastes much better that way, and w/ brown rice instead of white. It says that it has chicken in there but you can barely even find a piece, they need to put more in there. I love their gyu kaku salad but ask for the dressing on the side or else your salad will be soaked in it. Since their renovation, I noticed that one of their sauces in the white ceramic spout container was the same but it was watered down and I found that to be really weird, I mean it still tasted pretty much the same but I liked it when it was thicker. The Chilean seabass is really good I liked it a lot. For some reason our food (chicken, meats, etc) would always stick to the grill but this time our waiter brushed it with sesame oil which I was so happy to see. Our meats still stick but not as bad as before, they need to brush a little more on. Don?t bother with the chicken it's always tasteless. By the way don?t order the sweet potatoes because they?re not the traditional yams that you might think of they?re these Japanese sweet potatoes that are white & firm. I?ve been to the ones in Topanga and Rancho Cucamonga and both serve sushi & for some reason this 1 hasn?t caught on yet which is very disappointing. I just went there on March 21st and they still don?t have sushi. F.Y.I. the menu prices have gone up.
