Rise 'n Shine

My kids and I love Rise 'n Shine. The teachers are thoughtful, energetic, and loving, the facilities are clean and organized, the families are friendly and social, the snacks and meals are healthy and fresh, and the children always seem happy to be there. If there were a 6th star, I'd give it to Rise 'n Shine.

• Cons: Wish it weren't close to the highway...but not a major drawback

BEST PRESCHOOL IN LOS ANGELES (best kept secret!).

The Best Pre-school Ever! I visited many preschools and even sent my daughter to a very highly recommended preschool for a short time but nothing compares to Rise n Shine. The founder, Verdis Ferraro, has been doing this for over 20 years. She works from her heart. Her sparkling smile will make your child's day. Rise n Shine is safe, cozy, clean, colorful, organized, gently structured and calm, with great snacks and meals. They do artwork every day, sometimes painting with vegetables, leaves, shaving cream! And young children do not have to be potty-trained. They also periodically go on amazing, well-chaperoned field trips.

My daughter is 12 now and went to Rise n Shine from when she was 17 months old to 4 years old. My son is almost 5 and has just "graduated" from RnS after 2 wonderful years. He couldn't wait to go to school each day and didn't want to leave.

The staff is highly educated and experienced and most importantly, they are passionate about teaching. Circle time is full of singing, learning numbers and letters, listening to stories. The kids learn through play.

At R&S They prepare all the meals and snacks. Three snacktimes are always healthy: they all learn to love veggies and dip! For lunch they serve healthy food kids love. If your child has special food limitations, those will be accomodated. All the kids sit down together for snack and lunch time. They wait for everyone to be pretty much done before they get up and play. The kids learn to respect meal time, and they like to eat what their peers are eating. Picky eaters become more open to trying new foods. AND you don't have to pack a lunch every day!

Naptime from 1:00 to 3:00 is a godsend. They each have their own little bed roll and cot. They brush their teeth to a teeth-brushing song, and all learn to nap on a regular schedule. If naps at home are a challenge, this will carry over to easier napping at home.

I highly recommend Rise n Shine Childcare.

Great childcare/school in Culver City

This is an amazing school! My child had been going there since she was 18 months old, and now she is almost three. The Director and owner, Verdis and teachers are very involved, dedicated, carrying and very active. Kids learn Spanish and sign language! The Rise'n'shine curriculum is great for this age, the kids learn a lot and have a lot of fun! I would recommend this school to parents who are looking for a safe and quality environment.

Also, healthy snacks and nutrishes lunch provided every day!
