In Short – Imagine Dean and DeLuca and Oakville Market in Napa had a baby--this gem of a gourmet food store has a select sampling of the very best. Think Tate Chocolate Chip cookies, Pork Liver Mousse, Lantini, Spambaro dry pastas and hands down the best sheep yogurt from Bellweather Farms in Northern California. It's tucked away from the street, so keep an eye out, and know that it's bigger inside than it's curb appeal lets on. Bonus: It's fun watching the likes of Angelica Houston prowl through all the divine imported olive oils.
FANTASTIC LITTLE SHOP

Really a super little neighborhood store. I love their unique beverages. I had a ginger beer last night that was unlike anything I've ever drank before. I always find something new and delicious in there. Highly recommend!
- Pros: Nice people, great food
- Cons: I don't live inside it.
Best Ciabatta Bread --Bar None!
by zenlifer at Citysearch
Market Gourmet has the best ciabbatta bread, bar none. That includes the new Whole Foods store. I regularly buy my olive oils, balsamics, coffees, proscuitto de parma, chocolates, truffle oils and cheeses there. Their prices are competitive or lower than supermarket prices offering the same fare.
They also have a great selection of desserts including tiramisu, English toffee cake and many delectable ice creams. It is a one stop shop for picnics. They have ready-made sandwiches, cheese and fruit trays, soups and all sorts of cookies and pastries.
If you haven't tried it, you should. If you are a customer, re-commit to regular purchasing. We all need to do what we can to keep gems like this in business. They offer such an amazing international fare right here in our neighborhood...let's keep them around!
(Don't be afraid to ask the owners for shopping advice -Lauren and Scott---they are happy to help. If you don't see what you need, just tell them. They are great for creative recipe advice, too.) One or both of the owners are there every day...take advantage of that fact and let them know what you need/what you would like to see them carry. Bon appetito!
- Pros: All the best hard-to-find specialty foods
- Cons: You may drive by and miss it!
Amazing people!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 The nicest people I've ever met!!!‎ - HYUN‎ - Today
I spent the entire morning looking for a place to buy 10 honey sticks for a bridal shower/tea party on Saturday, and to my dismay, I can't find a single place in the west side! I just happened to call this place and Joe answered the phone. He said he didn't have any at the moment but he can get 5 from his own kitchen and get someone to get 5 for me when he/she goes to the farmers market on Thursday night in PASADENA. Regardless of whether he can get this person to really do it or not, his intentions are just mind-blowing. This is what I call a NICE person and GREAT customer service. I boycott everything from Walmart to meat to Japanese products (protesting their whaling practices) etc but when I find a place like this, I'm hooked and want to tell everyone about it! Thanks, JOE!!
