The Scene – The original Farfalla location has been transformed into a cozy, more familial space. Splotched autumn walls, artisanal fixtures and a warm fireplace illuminate the bustling crowds of well-heeled industry types and famous friends of co-owner Adam Carolla of "The Man Show." Tan umbrellas and low-hanging ivy conceal the smaller and less boisterous patio. Kindly servers aim to please. – – The Food – Hearty Italian specialties like wood-fired meats and homemade pastas are served in generous portions across the board. An excellent starter is the perfectly…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- Unless it's very busy, you can make reservations for the popular patio or near the fireplace.
- Know Before You Go:
- Be prepared to get well acquainted with your server--both the by-the-glass wine list and the dessert menu are extensive.
- The Extras:
- Make a night of it and pop into the Acme Comedy Theatre, aka Room 5, located directly upstairs. Dinner does not waive admission or guarantee entry.

Decent Italian Place
by TheSocialite
I love LA restaurants that have amazing food without the LA attitude and Amalfi Restaurant is simply that! I went for a dinner party and it was great. Everyone liked what they ordered (pizza, the Barolo Risotto dish and other things), I kept hearing the buzz about the Pumpkin Ravioli w/braised short rib and that's exactly what I got and I loved it! It was a perfect combo of flavors. I loved it and would definitely go back. My only complaint was our waitress would take her time and it wasn't that busy! Other than that amazing place.
- Pros: great food, good drinks
- Cons: slow service
Amazing Food
by Angelica678
My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day this year. The food was amazing! The only two problems we had were that the tables are a little close together. However, I'm sure this could be fixed when you make your reservation by asking to be seating in the corner or something. We also did not get a good server at all. When he was with us, he was nice, but he was not very attentive at all. The other servers seemed very good though, so it was probably just ours. We will definitely be returning!
- Pros: Food!
- Cons: tables close together
neighborhood gem

I've been to this place quite a few times as it's almost within walking distance from my house. I'll have to say I've never had a bad experience. The service is SUPER friendly and the food is always consistently good. It seems to not be all that crowded when I've been there which is a shame because everything about it is a pleasant dining experience. We brought a bottle of very nice champagne to celebrate a birthday and the waiter was so sweet, he waived the corkage. The lamb chops were to DIE for!!!
Great Neighborhood Place

This is a great neighborhood Italian place. The food is always good and the service is attentive and friendly. Ok, I just have to say - regarding the comment below - "who puts peas in risotto?" - Are you kidding? I just had the most delectable summer risotto with peas (not my first time). Peas are a wonderful ingredient in risotto - very common, actually. Have you seen Hell's Kitchen?
Worth the trip

I just read the review by sxzdiva and she couldn't be farther from the "truth." This is a great neighborhood spot, casual with good food and reasonable prices in today's marketplace. The Spicy Salami Pizza, Grilled Salmon Salad and the Caesar Chicken Salad were all tasty and filling and reasonably priced. The service by Naomi was excellent even though she had a 8 top in the main dining room and we were in the bar. It was my first time (used to go there when it was Farfalle) and I will go back. Andl getting back to the non sxz diva, who seems to possess alot of anger, the Italian restaurants she mentions I do believe are at a much higher price point, so chill out and compare garlic to garlic. Go to Amalfi, relax enjoy the food.
- Pros: Parking, Menu selection
- Cons: None on this visit
