good food, great customer service, great atmosphere, great neighborhood italian place, very reasonable prices, favorite italian restaurant, pricey wine
Decent Italian Place. I love LA restaurants that have amazing food without the LA attitude and Amalfi Restaurant is simply that! I went for a dinner party and it was great. Everyone liked what they ordered (pizza, the Barolo Risotto dish and other things), I kept hearing the buzz about the Pumpkin Ravioli w/braised short rib and that's exactly what I got and I loved it! It was a perfect combo of flavors. I loved it and would definitely go back. My only complaint was our waitress would take her time and it wasn't that busy! Other than that amazing place.
Thank you for your review... The Pumpkin Ravioli is a favorite among our fans! I am sorry about your slow services we are always working to improve this area.
Amazing Food. My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day this year. The food was amazing! The only two problems we had were that the tables are a little close together. However, I'm sure this could be fixed when you make your reservation by asking to be seating in the corner or something. We also did not get a good server at all. When he was with us, he was nice, but he was not very attentive at all. The other servers seemed very good though, so it was probably just ours. We will definitely be returning!
Thank you for your nice review. We are working to improve our service and I think you will be very happy when you return... We hope to see you again soon.
neighborhood gem. I've been to this place quite a few times as it's almost within walking distance from my house. I'll have to say I've never had a bad experience. The service is SUPER friendly and the food is always consistently good. It seems to not be all that crowded when I've been there which is a shame because everything about it is a pleasant dining experience. We brought a bottle of very nice champagne to celebrate a birthday and the waiter was so sweet, he waived the corkage. The lamb chops were to DIE for!!!
Thank you for your nice review... Please come and see us again soon. We are now offering half priced bottles of wine on Tuesday Nights in the dining room.
Great Neighborhood Place. This is a great neighborhood Italian place. The food is always good and the service is attentive and friendly. Ok, I just have to say - regarding the comment below - "who puts peas in risotto?" - Are you kidding? I just had the most delectable summer risotto with peas (not my first time). Peas are a wonderful ingredient in risotto - very common, actually. Have you seen Hell's Kitchen?
Worth the trip. I just read the review by sxzdiva and she couldn't be farther from the "truth." This is a great neighborhood spot, casual with good food and reasonable prices in today's marketplace. The Spicy Salami Pizza, Grilled Salmon Salad and the Caesar Chicken Salad were all tasty and filling and reasonably priced. The service by Naomi was excellent even though she had a 8 top in the main dining room and we were in the bar. It was my first time (used to go there when it was Farfalle) and I will go back. Andl getting back to the non sxz diva, who seems to possess alot of anger, the Italian restaurants she mentions I do believe are at a much higher price point, so chill out and compare garlic to garlic. Go to Amalfi, relax enjoy the food.
Horrible food and So-so service. This is the worst italian food I have ever had. Olive Garden is better compared to this place. I have been to Cicada, Valentino, Il Sole, Ago...and this is nothing compared to those places. The risotto is the worst EVER!!!! Who puts peas in the risotto, and since when is risotto made dry? Hmm, sounds tasty-Probably not. And the service, oh Boy. The guy who brings the food out doesn't make sense and when asked for something like lemon or peppers, he has a blank look on his face- Poor guy. Honestly for the price I would check out the other places that I mentioned....they are the BEST.
best risotto in town. Amalfi is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The service is always excellent barring one waiter who tends to disappear. The food is tasty and filling especially the chicken, grilled salmon and the mouth watering risotto. I have been many many times and they are always consistently good. I feel a warm welcome each time I go which combined with the fabulous food makes for a great night out.
Good food; horrendous customer service. Food was good, but I'll never go back there -- they didn't honor a gift certificate I'd bought from a third party (even though they honored another certificate just a year before). Filed a complaint -- they never even replied. Avoid this restaurant.
Romantic, delicious, amazing service.....
Amalfi is easily my favorite restaurant in LA. The atmosphere is very beautiful, relaxing, romantic, and perfect for special occasions, like anniversaries. Their cheese plate is to die for, completely perfect with a glass of Pinot Griggio. The staff is warm and nice, not to mention accomodating. I wasn't happy with the spicy sauce (I'm not a big spicy person) that came with my fried calamari appatizer, and they didn't even blink an eye to whip up something else I'd be happy with. My boyfriend and I have been there several times, and have never been disappointed in any way by the service, food, or ambiance. It's become that place we say "OH, when you're in town we HAVE to take you to Amalfi!"
Room 5 upstairs is not to be missed. If you're a music fan at all, there is often live music going on from super-talented local artists, and the bar is cozy and friendly. Foster Tims is an extremely local artist you have to check out if he's playing.
I CANNOT say enough wonderful things about this restaurant!
Eh.... Great atmosphere, if you can get through the wannabes that trickle over from ACME after a show. Then be prepared to spend WAY TOO MUCH for wine and drinks. I know it's LA, but come on! The food is actually really good and the service is great. Bartender has a great memory. If you see a show at ACME it's a really convenient place to get dinner and drink after, but be prepared to spend alot if you do.
