Charming! – An unpretentious, dark dive with real rye whiskey? Now that's right up my alley! Love the music and the decor is cool. Had Elvira sat on my lap and let me motorboat her, I'd have given a 5th star, J/K!
this place is awesome i've been going for years, it's a totally chill bar with no pretentious people, down to earth, hella awesome bartenders who make great drinks, good music, overall this place rocks. and it's right in front of a fire station so you have an option of where to drop off the people who can't hold their liquor, haha. seriously this place is awesome.
Where everybody knows your name........ – Sweet Sweet little cave, home away from home..!!!
I've been going to the cave for a few years now and i gots to say i've never felt as home as i do at this bar. This is the only bar that i can go into by MYSELF and feel totally comfortable without my girls or boyfriend. Its hard to find a bar like that as a girl. This is a true neighborhood/non-hollywood/ friendly bar. Now i'm not a highland park local, i used to live in the HLP years ago but now i live in downtown, and this bar is worth my time anytime. I've never met such a fun staff, especially the girl dj caroline. She is what makes weekends at the little cave good times. I've only met her a few times but she totally remembers the songs i request whenever i go. I tried to convince her to dj at one of my house parties but the little cave has her locked on friday nights, and rightfully so.(but if you ever can dj my partys please !! ) They play all different types of music at the cave, even though the 80's are quite popular there, the dj usually has whatever your in the mood for. Now, another thing i love about the cave is the jager bombs... i'm a huge fan of those and on some nights there only $5 bucks...!!! woohooo!!!! Theres an outdoor patio bar that takes cash only, and a huge smoking patio area, i've heard lots of bars in cities are banning smoking, The little cave has a big heated smoking patio. another thing is that i've never have trouble parking, tons of street parking and to top the night off, there's a lady outside selling danger dogs!!! how else could i end the night at the cave any better way, i recommend going to the little cave on Tuesdays for the totally 80's night, and wednesdays for punk rock night and the best night there is Friday. Friday is a high energy fun party night.
my ONLY complaint about the cave is the girls bathroom, theres only one stall and the line does get a lil long on weekends to use it, wish the stalls were bigger. besides that good job!!!!
BEST DIVE EVER!! – THIS PLACE WAS GREAT!
THE DRINKS WERE AMAZING AND ALSO THE STAFF WAS REALLY NICE .
ALL OF US ENJOYED OURSELVES AND WILL BE RETURNING REAL SOON!
THis is not HOllywood!..thank GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITs THe Litttle CAVE! – TO certain people this might be a place full of unatractive people...that just means they dont be long here...Contrary to what comments have been left i'd like to say that ive met great friends at the cave during the last three years and i still talk to them today.... dj, dancing, mingling its all that without the hassle of meeting snobby people that wont talk to you unless you look like a movie star...SO if your down to earth and tired of the "up-scale" crowd this is perfect!
I've never been to a bar with so many unattractive people.
The bar itself was a typically lame eastside dump.
its da Lil cave... – cool spot to get a drink or more . Jager bombs are nice there mmmmmm... Girls should come over.. the one with tattoos would be nice ha! Great staff... Come over try it on a Friday or Saturday you'll have a great time . Cool spot to talk with singles .
Good Times – Went here not expecting much but was pleasently suprised. Good Prices, Fun Staff, not what you'd expect. If youre in the area stop by.
YUMMY DRINKS – UMMM...MY FIRST BAR XPERIENCE WAS GREAT...TRY THE COUNT CHOCULA...UMMM UMMM GOOD.EVRYONE WAS SWEET AND APROACHABLE,INCLUDING THE BARTENDERS AND STAFF
Must stop on any NELA Pub Crawl! – I made this the first stop (well...second after La Arca de Noe Pupuseria for dinner and nasty Salvadoran beer) on a recent Highland Park pub crawl. Dark interior, good beer selection, and they even have a Galaga/Pac Man arcade machine! Nice patio as well. Check out my reviews of this and other local establishments at WWW.YORKBLVD
