In Short
A vintage sign of upside-down bats beckons Eastside scenesters inside this kitschy neighborhood joint with a spooky-friendly motif. Foam rocks behind the bar give the illusion of a cave-like setting, as do the black spray-painted acoustic ceiling and cute bat-shaped cutouts on cabinets. Red bubble lights cast a warm glow throughout the main room, where comfortable bench seating wraps to the small DJ station.

this place is awesome i've been going for years, it's a totally chill bar with no pretentious people, down to earth, hella awesome bartenders who make great drinks, good music, overall this place rocks. and it's right in front of a fire station so you have an option of where to drop off the people who can't hold their liquor, haha. seriously this place is awesome.

Sweet Sweet little cave, home away from home..!!! I've been going to the cave for a few years now and i gots to say i've never felt as home as i do at this bar. This is the only bar that i can go into by MYSELF and feel totally comfortable without my girls or boyfriend. Its hard to find a bar like that as a girl. This is a true neighborhood/non-hollywood/ friendly bar. Now i'm not a highland park local, i used to live in the HLP years ago but now i live in downtown, and this bar is worth my time anytime. I've never met such a fun staff, especially the girl dj caroline. She is what makes weekends at the little cave good times. I've only met her a few times but she totally remembers the songs i request whenever i go. I tried to convince her to dj at one of my house parties but the little cave has her locked on friday nights, and rightfully so.(but if you ever can dj my partys please !! ) They play all different types of music at the cave, even though the 80's are quite popular there, the dj usually has whatever your in the mood for. Now, another thing i love about the cave is the jager bombs... i'm a huge fan of those and on some nights there only $5 bucks...!!! woohooo!!!! Theres an outdoor patio bar that takes cash only, and a huge smoking patio area, i've heard lots of bars in cities are banning smoking, The little cave has a big heated smoking patio. another thing is that i've never have trouble parking, tons of street parking and to top the night off, there's a lady outside selling danger dogs!!! how else could i end the night at the cave any better way, i recommend going to the little cave on Tuesdays for the totally 80's night, and wednesdays for punk rock night and the best night there is Friday. Friday is a high energy fun party night. my ONLY complaint about the cave is the girls bathroom, theres only one stall and the line does get a lil long on weekends to use it, wish the stalls were bigger. besides that good job!!!!
