James Dean would never recognize the place. Neither would many of the other 50's actors who loved to bowl at PINZ. With a major renovation successfully completed, PINZ now draws in many of todays Hollywood A-listers, located in prime Studio City, California. With it's state-of-the-art, but pretentious free attitude, PINZ has heated things up. The combination of fun, full service bar and food, great music and laser and light shows had turned PINZ into the realization of a dream for managing partner Eleda Cohen. The Scene – Recent touch-ups to this 32-lane alley, like the 200-foot L.A.-landmark mural, four flashy video screens and cartoonish-purple carpeting, update its classic '50s charm. Two game rooms feature pool, air hockey, pinball, as well as new and vintage arcade games. Blue-haired bowlers and children's birthday parties during the day give way to college-age couples, loitering teenagers and occasional celebrity drop-ins at night. Back in the day, regulars like Justin Timberlake and gal pal Cameron Diaz would even rent personalized, glittery-purple lockers that sat side-by-side next to…

This place was ok for a few games but i will not come back. One problem is that the employees there dont have manners.

Bowl Elsewhere!
by bjchism1
THE WORST BOWLING EXPERIENCE EVER! Eight of us went to Pinz to celebrate my friends birthday and from the very beginning were treated like garbage. We asked for two lanes since we had eight people, the girl at the counter said we needed nine if we wanted two lanes...The place was not very busy and we could see that this person had a horrible attitude so we went with the one lane. She put us in the middle of two other big parties and most of us had nowhere to sit or even stand. After the first game we had a friend join us and he paid for eight people before realizing that four people were sitting the next one out. When we asked for a refund the same girl told us that it was not her problem and they don't give refunds. In a very condescending tone said "how about a birthday announcement instead", the nerve of this girl! So we asked for a manager to see if maybe we could get a refund or at least play two games since we just paid for it, the manager sided with his employee but reluctantly let us played two games. Ten minutes later he came over to us (we thought to say sorry) and began to tell us off about "the way we talked to his employee". I've never seen such poor customer service or even people skills for that matter. All the while it's the most expensive place i've ever bowled at. None of us will ever go back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!
- Pros: Facility

Drinks and bowling...FUN!!
by geminigirli
I suggested Pinz to a girlfriend for her birthday party and everyone had such a good time! They have a full bar...need I say more? LOL, the drinks actually improved my bowling game. Staff was nice, not overly friendly, but not pretentious as you might expect. Overall, fun times!!
