Haircut Disaster

by sk1017 at Citysearch

I am never going back to this place again. I made an appointment with the woman who normally cuts my hair at this salon, but she was still busy with another customer, so she sent me to another stylist at the salon. I thought that was a bit rude, but she told me that this other stylist, Mrs. Hong, was experienced, so I trusted her. Two hours later, I left the salon literally in tears because my hair looked so bad. I showed her not one, but TWO pictures of the haircut that I wanted (long hair, soft bangs, and layers on the sides), and my hair was already similar to that. I told her I just needed it trimmed an inch and re-layered. How bad could she mess it up? I didn't expect my hair to look 100% like the pictures, but I didn't imagine in my wildest dreams that she would give me a mullet with a bowl cut on top. Not a good look. Never mind that I showed her pictures of what I wanted. She didn't even look at the pictures, didn't listen to me, and didn't care. She just chopped off my hair, thinned it out to the point that I had no hair on the sides, and gave me these ridiculously severe bowl-cut bangs. If she had given me a haircut that was different from what I wanted but was still attractive, I would have been fine with it. I am not a difficult customer. The problem is that she layered my hair in totally random places and spent all of her time unnecessarily thinning my hair out. If you want a straight perm, this place does a good job at reasonable prices, but I would not recommend this place for haircuts, especially if you have long hair and want something soft and feminine-looking.

  • Pros: Parking, reasonable price
  • Cons: Not good for haircuts

the Perfect Stylist

by sweetjojo at Citysearch

Cindy always cuts, colors, and treats my hair with precision and cares to the minute details. She is very talented and the results have never disappointed me. I especially go to her for my fix of magic straight. I don't want to risk burning my hair from other places, which I have before meeting her. Despite how far I drive to go out to see her, it's always worth the trip.

  • Pros: no more bad hair days, reasonable price

Awesome

by RoxyPmPm at Citysearch

I had my hair straightened at Kim Sun Young's.....Robin and her assistants were awesome. Robin explained in detail what would happen to my hair and how I should maintain my straightened look. They were amazing and so nice and attentive. And it didn't break the bank in these hard times.

Thanks Robin. I finally know what it feels like to blowdry my hair in under 20 minutes and go.

  • Pros: Quick, very thorough
