In Short
Nestled a few blocks south of Hollywood Boulevard, this neighborhood tavern doubles as a daytime coffeehouse and lively bar frequented by artsy locals and hardcore rockers. The Spanish-style building's street-front staircase leads into a modest space, no more than 1,000 square feet, decorated with dark colors, well-worn furnishing and comfortable brown-leather booths. A back patio plays muse to freewheeling weekend crowds. The menu features a selection of appetizers, fresh salads, sandwiches and pastries available for happy hour noshing or take-away.

great sandwiches/layd-back crowd/ice cold beer. I love to area in back--wish they'd bring back the sofas though. the owner is usually there and is cool as hell. i like the fact that it's off the beaten path. reminds me of 'The Room' but with more exits, better ventilation, and better smoking area in back....

I went here to see a friend's band play a few weeks back and not being a regular bar-goer, I have to say I enjoyed the atmosphere. While the drinks are WAY too expensive, it's a cool place to hang out with friends and catch some tunes. The backyard area has BBQ food and more alcohol. Fun.
