What People Are Saying About Crane's Hollywood Tavern

In Short – Nestled a few blocks south of Hollywood Boulevard, this neighborhood tavern doubles as a daytime coffeehouse and lively bar frequented by artsy locals and hardcore rockers. The Spanish-style building's street-front staircase leads into a modest space, no more than 1,000 square feet, decorated with dark colors, well-worn furnishing and comfortable brown-leather booths. A back patio plays muse to freewheeling weekend crowds. The menu features a selection of appetizers, fresh salads, sandwiches and pastries available for happy hour noshing or take-away.

Overpriced drinks, but I expected that
by DrunkSurfer
It's a really cool place to hang out and just relax. Kind of tucked away and a little hard to find, but definitely worth the search. The drinks are overpriced, but not too bad.

one of hollywood's best kept secrets

great sandwiches/layd-back crowd/ice cold beer. I love to area in back--wish they'd bring back the sofas though. the owner is usually there and is cool as hell. i like the fact that it's off the beaten path. reminds me of 'The Room' but with more exits, better ventilation, and better smoking area in back....
- Pros: small, isolated, friendly
- Cons: no 'drinks' drinks
Cool little pub

I went here to see a friend's band play a few weeks back and not being a regular bar-goer, I have to say I enjoyed the atmosphere. While the drinks are WAY too expensive, it's a cool place to hang out with friends and catch some tunes. The backyard area has BBQ food and more alcohol. Fun.
Crane's Rocks!

Come to Via Roma also known as Crane's of Hollywood. It's a great laid back bar. They only serve beer and wine though. Darren, the owner, is awesome. On weds and sats, they have live jazz, and on sundays they have a cookout. Very cool. Even though it's in Hollywood, it feels private and secluded!
- Pros: Laidback, Inexpensive, Patio
- Cons: , No big tables, No liquor
