Japanese Homestyle Cooking In Reseda. A real find for really down to earth home style authentic Japanese cooking. It's nothing fancy but it's one of those places you like to go when you know you're going to get tasty food at a great price. The menu is very extensive and diverse - everything from tonkatsu (deep fried chicken,beef or pork cutlet that is lighter than air) to really decent sushi rolls. The curry is to die for. My wife (who is Japanese) says it tastes like home.

Traditional Japanese food- the real deal at a great price. I adore this place and go often, if you have ever been to Japan you will miss the traditional home cooked meals and SMALL ISLAND is one of the few places I have found that can replicate this- they have also added a full sushi menu and took my request to make custom rolls. The staff are all wonderful and actually speak Japanese too so it is enjoyable. One of the gems of the Valley for sure! :)
