What People Are Saying About Nirvana

Featured Review

In Short – A dark wooden door marks the otherwise anonymous entrance to this posh party palace. Inside, a koi pond pathway leads to the bar, where a massive Buddha fountain bubbles as patrons lounge in canopied beds and fluffy sofas. Two fireplaces warm the patio with gray stone and green glass; another embellishes the small red-walled main dining room. Asian-inspired menu specialties include wild boar with mango coulis, venison with cranberries and roasted halibut.

Editor's Tips

When to Go:
Call ahead to find out if the kitchen is staying open past its usual midnight cutoff.
Where to Sit:
Arrive early on weeknights to dine on a canopied bed. On weekends, beds can be reserved with a two-bottle minimum.
Know Before You Go:
Expect a more crowded scene after 10pm, Thursday through Saturday, when DJs spin ethno-trance.
The Extras:
Reserve Nirvana's private room for a $1,500 minimum purchase. It accommodates 12 people max, and is furnished with a day bed and floor pillows.

Nirvana...NOT Nirvana

by McL31 at Citysearch

The decor is nice and warm, the service and food was not!!

I went for my friend's birthday party that is visiting from London, we were there for 40 minutes and a server never came to take an order, ended up going to the bar and asking if we all could order food or drinks. The guy behind the bar was dressed in layman's clothes, wearing a baseball hat and sports wear which I thought was strange and inappropriate for a supposedly upscale Beverly Hills, Indian restaurant. The food finally came and was bland and tasted warmed over several times, NOT fresh. we brought the birthday girl a bottle of champagne which she opted to open so we all could toast, we did and each had a glass, the guy with the baseball hat came after and complained about it although no one said anything before or even bothered to come and take an order. The portions are miniscule and way over priced for sub standard fare. Most of us were from the UK originally and several were Nepalese, so we take our Indian cuisine very seriously...Also, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BILL, when we got ours there were several items NOT ordered....The guy with the baseball hat was just plain RUDE... After we ordered another round and paid our bill he turned on all the lights and told us they were closing!!!! When we told him that we just ordered a round of drinks he replied back that "He didn't care, he's closed", we all were so appalled, stating that in London establishments would never say that to customers, no one would ever be so rude... We all left with the worst taste in our mouths...I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN...EVER!!!
