Art book publisher hawks titles from the only bookstore in Beverly Hills.. In Short
Taboo-breaking (and embracing) publisher Benedikt Taschen's flagship U.S. bookstore is tailor-made for Beverly Hills: thin, expensive and beautiful on the surface. Designer Philippe Starck decked out the slim space with dark and glossy wood floors and paneling; along the ceiling and walls, computer-generated collages drawn from the books. There's a communal reading table and a tiny coffee bar in the back with plasma TV screens and Naugahyde stools for a touch of bohemian funk.
