In Short
It was designed to encourage educational and exploratory opportunities for children, but with more than 20 state-of-the-art exhibits and programs, children of all ages can experience hands-on learning at this huge musuem, including lessons about insects, plants and animals. All the exhibits and educational programs center around themes of exploration, investigation and expression, including interactive activities. Situated in Brookside Park, families can also enjoy outdoor adventures among the more than two acres of gardens, waterways and walkways.
Better than home. Kidspace is the best place in LA for at-home parents to go to get away from the house. You can take your kids there every day (the membership is a good deal) and they will have a blast running around in the fountains, climbing up a streambed and running around the hillside garden area. There is a playroom for toddlers too. There is usually an art project or some other activity to do, and when they get tired they can go in the nature exchange and look at rocks and shells and books. You can bring in your own food and have a picnic. Dress the kids in their bathing suits and water shoes, they will want to get wet. There is a playground in the park outside, and a pool at the other end of the park, so why go home?
Fun afternoon with your kids. Kidspace make rainy days and babysitting fun! There are activities for kids of all ages, but it is best for kids between 3 - 10. Everything is interactive, kids are encouraged to run and jump and climb and make noise. They might even learn something along the way - the digging exhibit where you can learn about bugs and fossils is always a kid favorite. And the popular climbing towers made the move and seem to be better than before. Parking at Brookside is a little scary so make sure to keep a close eye on the little ones.
