Editorial Review for Splash Bar – by Patrick Green

In Short
Despite an extensive "Hollywood" makeover, this hotel bar isn't the Valley's version of Skybar or the Standard. It does, however, offer cheap drinks, friendly staff, tasty appetizers and exotic cocktails. The remodeled interior has a modern sensibility: tinted mirrors, flat-screen televisions and stretched-out booths. The outdoor patio is spacious, and a makeshift dance floor appears on the weekends when blue-haired conventioneers and buttoned-up business travelers give way to local partygoers.

This place is ok. Not the best I've ever been to, but pretty good. 3 stars. I would definitely check it out if you're in the area, but there's some other cool places to go as well.

Splash is a small bar/lounge tucked away next to a Holiday Inn hotel. The couple of times I have gone were dead empty--just the bartender and a few people scattered at the bar. Granted, once was a Monday, and the other was a Sunday, but still, best to go w/ some buddies as it does not seem like a place to meet people. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere created by the lavalamps and music vidoes playing on an array of LCD TVs, though. The drinks are decently priced. They have a menu of girly-man cocktails if that's your cup of tea, too. Overall, recommended if you happen to be in the area and want a nice place to chill and have a conversation.

Pros: Free Parking

Cons: Sparse Crowd

Holiday Inn hotel bar makes its mark with a hip new look, while retaining most of its low-key charm.  See the full editorial review.
