Oh no, I think this place is gone now?!. This was one of those great mini-mall finds: not much atmosphere but incredble food. The shrimp saganaki was perfect every time. They also had the best tzatziki I've ever had, and the best pita ever, too (they get the dough delivered thne bake it fresh there). BUT when I tried to go here for dinner the other night there was a sign that they had lease problems and had to leave! Luckily they did say they were trying to find a new location, so hopefully soon I'll be eatingthe shrimp saganaki in a (non-strip mall?) nicer environment!

Opa!. I would never imagine such perfection could come from a mini-mall resaurant. The severs are so personable and friendly. The food is to die for. Whether it's for slightly lighter fare (the greek salad with gyros meat is incredible) or decadent americanized greek food (a gyro with greek fries) your tastebuds will thank you. At first I was bummed that no wine or beer was served but now I'm thankful that I was totally coherent for such a feast. Note: The hummus is a little bland but the tzatziki is excellent.

Awesome service. Stopped by Mama Voula's on a Thursday night. The place was packed...a good sign. The food was amazing...the BEST Gyro by far I've ever had (and I've had...trust me). It was served with a choice of Greek salad or Greek fries. I ordered both. The Feta cheese on the salad was creamy and not salty. The dressing, light and lemony. The Greek fries were crispy, hot and sprinkled with whole Greek oregano and chopped garlic. The smell alone was worth the order. Teddy the waiter handles the place like a circus master. He was attentive to each and every table. He made sure all the dishes were to perfection before serving them and he was very very funny. Be sure to go to Mama Voula's and eat some of the best food around.

Quaint location, amazing food!. I had heard good things about Mama Voula's and was anxious to try it. LA has always fascinated me when it comes to restaurants as the best ones can be so nondescript. You'd never randomly drive by and find it--you'd have to know it was there. The pita is incredible...the yogurt sauce is delectible, and I had what I'd say was the best Gyro I've ever had...all for less than $15!! I'd totally go back.

great authentic greek food. just stopped in to mama voula's for lunch and the food was amazing... especially the tzatziki, the flaming shrimp saganaki special, and the grilled octopus entree. Also, the best pita bread I've ever had, and I am usually not into pita bread for its own sake. I really think this restaurant deserves a very high rating, especially considering the very reasonable prices and friendly service. I am excited to go back and try the rest of their menu.

Good Greek on the West Side. I had to speak up when I saw that the rating on this place was too low. We've been there a couple times now, and will certainly return. When it comes to sides, do not pass up the lemon potatoes. Make sure to ask about specials. The waiter is helpful and charming, obviously committed to the food he is serving. I definitely enjoyed the octopus, and the sausage was pretty good. The lemon soup could have been a little more tart, but was still better than other places I've tried. Pending renovation, they are BYO alcohol, but no corking fee.

Tiny Greek taverna cooks up authentic dishes and California-influenced vegetarian options.. In Short
Blue-and-white walls reflect the colors of Greece in this intimate cafe that houses only seven tables and a handful of counter spots. Colorful paintings of Mediterranean islands dot the walls, while olive-branch tablecloths and cooking bowls abound. Traditional gyros, salads, souvlaki plates and dips are served from the visibly kinetic kitchen, along with unique options like the vegetarian gyro sandwich made with grilled zucchini and eggplant.
