Silly, sweet gifts from imaginative indie designers.. Stumped for a gift? If the recipient has a pulse, there's something adorable to quicken it inside this popular gift emporium. From novelty onesies to "Bacon versus Tofu" action figures, hand-made soaps to ladybug-shaped kitchen timers, mom-sized sock monkey dolls to limited edition scented candles, fresh-baked cookies to retro penny candy by the sack, cheap thrills and less cheap ones. Although every available shabby chic surface is covered with treasures, and even more hang from the ceiling, the store feels tidy and the shopping experience flows. One wall is festooned with hand-made retro letterpress greeting cards from Peculiar Pair Press, Hello Lucky and other contemporary designers. And yes, there really was a Lula Mae, the sassy grandma of owner Marci Toombs-Christensen.
