The Scene
Stylish wooden chairs and stark white walls provide the backdrop to a boisterous crowd and candlelit romantic dinners. Cava's former home has a split personality: Patrons seated downstairs next to sleek, oversized windows are on display to patio diners and guests en route to the more intimate upstairs area. Charming waiters provide menu expertise over the bi-level din.
The Food
Chef Gino Angelini exhibits a deft touch with appetizer grains and mains cooked in the oak- and olive-wood oven or on rotisserie. A bed of earthy lentils supports juicy wood-fired chicken and yolky sunny-side-up egg topping; creamy risotto is strewn with luscious guanciale and cavalo nero. Smoked branzino is mildly redolent of buttara (dried roe), with an equally tame citrus flavor. For entrees, rotisserie duck is lovingly tender; grilled bone-in rib eye succulent. Desserts offer selections like unusually gooey and tart lemon panna cotta with blackberry compote.

I don't know what happened to this one, but I honestly feel like the gem of a restaurant I thought I found years ago is really just a worthless peice of garbage. Remarkable differences between now and then: I never had to wait just to be aknowleged, I don't recall snide waiters smirking at other patrons, and for some reason the drinks and the entrees seem to be shrinking. But maybe, that's me...and the 5 individuals who joined me but I don't think I'll be coming back anymore. Ciao!

Hmmm sorry to say this place has gone downhill. My family and I went there for Christmas last year and it was lovely in every way. This year we went again on Christmas Day and we couldn't have been more disappointed. I feel grateful to whomever is working on Christmas but this year we all felt like we were being punished for coming in on a Holiday. Our poor waiter took forever to even acknowledge us and by the time he did he was very impatient. The bartender must have been in a bad mood because our drinks were mini versions of what a normal drink would consist of but more expensive than what anyone would want to pay for a drink that size. The food was truly unforgettable except for the shrimp salad that was teeny tiny and $16.00 Group concencus??? NEVER AGAIN!!! If you want to stay open lose the attitude and the prices. Better yet loosen up and make your food and service worthy of what you are charging.

If you don?t like this place then you have no business ever going to a restaurant again. I have been to many Italian restaurants all over the U.S. and La Terza has to be in my top five. The food is authentic Italian and the hospitality is nothing short of perfect. For those of you that did not have a great experience I strongly suggest that you give it another try.
