great custumer service, reasonable prices, best helpful staff, best place, very professional owner, best mechanic, great kudos rene
Fife star service!!!.
Lets keep it simple folks. German Independent. If your car is German, they will be pleased to see you. Rene is great. He's the owner and a really nice guy. He has helped me out a bunch of times for next to nothing on small things.
The fact of the matter is all these guys are pretty much straight forward. They will tell you what is wrong and give you a fair price. When I first got to LA I'd take my car to Santa Monica volkswagen. They overcharge the craps outta me and are then relentless is sending you emails and letters telling you to come back. for a company that makes, repairs and sells VW, they have consistently mess up my car or forgot to put certain things back. After three months I found german Independent and that is where I take my VW now. there work is consistent and the price is fair.
If you want to keep your GERMAN car in good running health take it here. If you would like to have your car messed with by VW of santa monica take it there. They will screw it up enough that you will have to buy another car in a few years.
Great value, Great service. I needed new brakes and rotors for my Range Rover. The dealer (Hornburg) quoted me $1,600!! So I decided to shop around. Not only did German Independent quote me 60% LESS than the dealer, but they had my car ready the same day!!! And they even delivered the car to me!! Granted, one of the partners lives very close to me, but still, that's great customer service!! They are honest, efficient, quick, and friendly!! I would definitely recommend German Independent to anyone! And, to top it all off, I don't even own a German car! But they were happy to order the parts I needed from Land Rover, and they fixed my car immediately! Ask for Matt- he was a great help!
Best Shop. Brought my Audi into German Independent for a service and some body work. What a really nice experience! It was less then I had been quoted some were else and they did a great job. They even stayed late so that I could get my car before the holiday. The shop and the workers had a really great vibe. Thanks guys!
THE BEST!. Brought my car in for mechanical service and some body work. This was the best experience I have ever had getting my car fixed, ever! They were able to do everything at one place. The quote they gave me was right on and no hidden fees which I always have found at the dealerships. I feel like theses guys and girls really care about what they are doing. They have a customer for life! Thanks!
German Independent actually cares about you and your car..
German Independent is really a God-send to anyone with a German vehicle in the LA area. Sure we love our German cars for their engineering and design but we all know how expensive (and mysterious) maintenance and repairs can be. GI tells you exactly what is wrong with your car and why. They don't just tell you that "yadayadyada" is broken and you better fix it. They take the time to show you what is wrong with your car, what it all means, and to top it off they give you an unbelievably fair price. The dealer wanted $600 more for the SAME job, using the SAME parts and they did it in 1 1/2 hours! The dealer would have kept it over night.
Bottom line...go here. You will not be disappointed or feel ripped off. How refreshing!
excellent body shop - highly recommended!.
I saw the positive reviews on citysearch and went to them to cosmetically fix my 2006 BMW Convertible before returning my lease and I can only confim the postive feedback. They work fast, give you an exact estimates in writing, are very responsive and their work is good old German quality! They have very long opening hours which is great and my car did look like new when I picked it up. I am very happy to have found them and will return with my next German car. Thanks guys!
+ exellent work
+ fast and reliable
+ great communication and long opening hours
+ nice guys
Honest reasonable service. Fixing a BMW is never cheap but they did my repairs for less than the dealer without any loss of quality. I have had them fix multiple things over the year and even tell me when something wasn't cost effective to fix which is a nice change from mechanics telling you that you need stuff that isn't necessary.
Don't believe the hype. I took my '02 Boxster to G.I. in July to do a post-purchase inspection. After purchasing the vehicle, I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel at 75 mph, and the ABS indicator light came on. I told G.I. about these issues. They had the car for 3 hours. I came back and they said nothing was wrong with the vehicle, that it was "clean." And the ABS light? And the vibration? They said nothing was wrong with it, but that I had a leak at the valve cover gasket, which they would fix for some exorbitant price. They didn't offer to do anything else. I paid for the inspection and left. Well, come to find that the balance and alignment were off. And, according to someone who has been working on Porsches for a very long time said, the Boxster doesn't have a valve cover gasket, but silicone, which will leak over time because the gasoline slowly breaks down the silicone. Maybe this is just semantics, but I don't feel that G.I was very up front with me about the car, and I'm not confident they know much about Porsches, or at least Boxsters. If you've got a Boxster, go some place else.
BEST BMW & GERMAN CAR SERVICE IN L.A.. I have a BMW 330i that was leajing oil from the oil pan gasket. Rene and his team put the car on lift and figured out within half an hour that not just the pan gasket was leaking, but another part as well. In order to do the job 100% correct they recommended to make that repair as well. They called me and discussed all the details with me and I always knew that they are honest and straight forward with their recommendations. Many mechanics try to take advantage of the situation, not so Rene and his team. Peace of mind all the way! Plus Rene and his guys are absolutely nice guys who know their stuff inside and out! The BEST BMW and German car service in L.A. by far. I highly recommend you see Rene and his team!
Just picked up my Cayman S. Wow! Awesome job!
There was some front end body damage that needed roughly a week to fix. I usually go to the Porsche Dealer but not anymore. They had the rental car company literally waiting to pick me up, they are basically 2/3rd's the price of a dealer and their service is warm, personable, efficient and quick. They called me a day before their ETA. When I picked up the car the quality of workmanship was better than I expected it. to be. Awesome job Rene and Matt. See you soon...No scratch that, hopefully not. Anyway from now on bringing all my cars and highly recommending them to all. Cheers!
