Editorial Review for Casino Morongo – by Jeremy Beecher
The Scene
When the Morongo tribe decided to improve on their first casino, they did so with aplomb. The result is a glistening, curvaceous 27-story tower that soars above the desert floor, its brightly-lit exterior visible for miles. By day, guests lounge by several outdoor pools under the shade of palm trees. By night, the casino's gambling floor fills, and Morongo's restaurants and bars buzz with excitement. Guests also enjoy down beds, plasma screen TVs and high-speed internet.
The Details
In the gambling area, thousands of slot machines and 100 tables spread over the expanse. The Pit Bar, at the casino's center, affords a view of the entire floor; Mystique offers live music and dancing. Two restaurants on the casino floor feature casual dining 24 hours a day. Perched atop the building, Cielo serves upscale Italian fare; one floor below is 360, a Jetsons-inspired lounge offering panoramic views and DJs spinning into the wee hours.

I have to admit this place is amazing compared to the old morongo. Once you see the building the first thing that comes to your mind is that it looks soo much like the Palms casino in Las Vegas. The slot machines aren't loose at all, the old morongo you tend to win alot more, but once the new morongo open it gets harder and harder to win. So play table games, thats the only way you can win. I stopped going because its been hard to win there. The food court is nice but needs more tables and needs to be bigger. I have been to the club and it is a nice club but i would recommend a better dj and a bigger lounge area.
Pros: nice dealers, great place to hang out with friends
Cons: slots arent loose, some cocktail waitresses are rude

Just a few minutes out of Palm Springs and about a 2 hour drive from LA, Morongo Casino is an oasis of Vegas-style gaming. Relatively new, clean and modern, Morongo aspires to the kind of casual hipness that the Palms Casino in Las Vegas has, while welcoming to gamblers from twenty-one to eighty-one. The poker room is a little on the small side, but it's always busy. There are a LOT of slots to choose from (though I think they're not as 'loose' as the ones in Vegas), and a fair array of table games like blackjack and pai gow. The food court is usually packed, which makes for a cattle car experience, but the buffet is very good, with service and food to rival any buffet found on the Strip. Good for a gambling fix when you don't feel like hitting the traffic on I-15.
Pros: clean and modern decor, friendly service, vast array of slots and table games
Cons: crowded on weekends, food court is way too small to accomodate the crowds
