I stumbled upon this find with a local school auction win; I had always wanted to try Pilates. In a short series of classes, I felt a noticeable change! With a few more classes, I felt sleeker in my over-40 body! I was amazed at how much fun I was having too! Trisha and Jesse worked me hard while making me smile and laugh as the hour passed. I find myself missing the camaraderie almost as much as the expert instruction. Pilates takes mental energy and the descriptive approaches given and encouragement along the way are best in class! Thank you to Cassidy and her tremendous staff! TRY THEM OUT!

After hip replacement surgery in 2000 which left me with the condition of foot drop, I started Pilates at a studio in Pasadena. This helped me at first, but after three years I became disillusioned because I was not making any progress in my core strength and balance.
The very beginning of 2004, I was absolutely thrilled when I found Pilates Mertro on Glendale Blvd., right here in Atwater Village where I live. Well, that was the beginning of
my progress in core strength, improved posture, improved body balance and gait. It opened a new world for me.
I am presently taking private lessons from Phithsamay who is a phenomenal instructor.
I cannot emphasize enough how professional and well trained are the instructors at Pilates Metro. Also, very importantly, everyone here is very supportive and very friendly, which was not the case at the place I went to in Pasadena.
Pilates Metro is a very caring place and I recommend it to older ladies like myself. We seniors must remember that when people get old they are more inclined to fall. Pilates helps us maintain core strength from which all our body movements eminate and trains us to be more aware of our bodies.
- Pros: Professional and caring
- Cons: none at all

This place knows what they are doing...
To me what makes a pilates place great is the instructors and these instructors are very well trained, each one is better then the next. You can't go wrong splurging on a private here.
The hours are good and they have group classes that are twice a week at two different times.
The owner is also an instructor and very dedicated to keeping the place clean, friendly and professional.
If you are in Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Glendale this is probably the best Pilates studio around.
- Pros: friendly staff, group classes, well trained teachers
- Cons: rigid rules - but you gotta respect that

I am in the Los Angeles area visiting my daughter and accompanied her to Pilates Metro with Allison as instructor. We tried a new type of Pilates - chair Pilates. I can certainly see how this could tone, stretch and increase strength. The atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing - we enjoyed our session and felt good about the workout.
- Pros: knowledgeable, staying current in industry
- Cons: I live out of town!
