Amazing breakfast on Beverly!!. We stopped into Cayenne last week on a trip from Vegas and were blown away by the food. There were lots of unique ingredients to choose from, my goat cheese, red pepper, purple onion, smoked turkey scramble made my day. The breakfast potatoes were awesome, prepared with really flavorful spices and a great Cayenne House Hot Sauce on the side. Nice big selection of hot teas to choose from and really fast, friendly service. Genuine hospitality, can't wait to dine here again on our next trip to LA.

Great lunch place. I have been here twice, and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The wait staff is attentive and the food has been delicious both times. I haven't tried their dinners, but I will make it a point to return one evening if it promises to be as good as lunch.

Nice area, decor and service but mediocre food. Very cute, low-key place in a prime spot and the owner/manager and servers were great and attentive to our group of 5, which is a rare combination in L.A.. Meanwhile, the food was just good but not great.

Amazingly refined cuisine with a refreshing mix of Eastern spices. My friend and I decided to try something different last Thursday and looked up Cayenne on City Search. Upon arriving we were greeted by a very polite gentleman who promptly led us to a nice outdoor table. I looked at the menu and was surprised to find such an eclectic mix of Moroccan, French, Italian, Greek and American food on the menu. My friend who had been here before, told me Cayenne Cafe is one of only 3 restaurants in town that orders the highest level grade A organic coffee, $50 a pound. So I ordered a latte to test it, and was amazed at how smooth it was, it had no bitter after taste whatsoever. I could definitely get hooked to coffee at Cayenne, its the best cup of coffee I've ever tasted.

The waiter had a happy face and upon my request suggested I try the kibbih as an appetizer, and the salmon with charmoula sauce as the main dish. My friend ordered his favorite dish Moroccan couscous. I must say they have an excellent chef because the salmon had some amazing flavors with a very delicate and refined mix of spices. I've never tasted salmon like this in my life, I think its Cayenne's unique blend of spices that creates the magic with this dish.

The happy chipper waiter told me since its Thursday night, there would be Flamenco dancing starting in 30 minutes. Sure enough, a guitar player and a dancer showed up with guitar and a wooden floor. When the performance started, I was quite surprised at how dramatic, exciting and charismatic Flamenco dancing is. All in all, it made for a very memorable and enjoyable evening out.

The waiter's were very courteous and attentive all evening long and the deserts were uniquely light and delicious. My friend and I had a wonderful time at Cayenne and I will definitely put this on my list of all time favorite places to hang out.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that has a sophisticated taste.

Great find!. Last night, my boyfriend and I were searching for a restaurant to go to near La Brea. We did not want to go anywhere that was crowded nor a place where we could not hear each other. We saw Cayenne on Beverly and decided to give it a try. It looked cute enough from the outside. It wasn't completely crowded but not empty enough to scare us away. We were surprised to find that it was a Moroccan restaurant. We were welcomed by a friendly man, who appeared to be an owner or manager. We were seated immediately in the outdoor heated patio...amazing for a Saturday night at 8:00 PM. The service was top-notch here...courteous and quick service/food. The belly dancing and ethnic music added a nice different element from the usual. The hummus was amazing. I ordered the chicken skewer dinner, which included rice, a salad or soup. Mine was average tasting...but how good can chicken skewers taste, I guess. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pommegranate dish and his was amazingly good. We definitely enjoyed the restaurant overall and suggest it as a fun different place to go to. I will steer towards something more adventurous on the menu next time.

Poor service. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed coming to Cayenne. I was a regular customer with my friends for quite some time, felt the food was alright (no NYC) and enjoyed the atmosphere. However, I'll never ever return again after being insulted by the restaurant owner, who implied I was too cheap to sit at his restaurant.

I had already cooked myself a meal at home, but decided to join the company of my friends at their request. I felt bad for not having anything, so I ordered a side of rice that came out in a small cup. Perfectly fine. Then the bill comes and I'm charged $5 for literally a small cup of rice. I simply questioned if the price was correct considering you can buy a chicken sandwich for $6. They said yes that's the price, so I paid. Again, fine. Then the owner came out and said "I heard you complaining about the price of your rice." I replied, "I was just checking to see if the price was correct for a cup." He asks me if that's all I ordered and I said yeah, I come here all the time and usually order full meals, but that I had already eaten tonight and I was just joining my friends so opted for a side. He said, "well you are lucky to be sitting in my restaurant for $5, I usually charge $25 a head minimum. $5 is nothing so consider yourself lucky" and walked away. It's not like I was sitting and ordering by myself, I simply joined my friends who spent over $60 at the table! What a way to treat and retain a loyal customer... Alls I can say is it was quite insulting and I'll never return nor recommend this place to anyone anymore. I understand if my experience doesn't deter you from eating here. I just feel it's always important to let people know when a customer is mistreated and insulted not just by an employee, but the owner! I refuse to support such acerbic and uncaring proprietors. So if you are deciding between Cayenne and an alternative, please try the alternative! TIA
