In Short – Inside a drab Eastside strip mall, Eastside hipsters mingle with local families, cool beats bounce off Warhol-like pop art, and sunshine bounces against pale blue and yellow walls. Almost everything on the menu is from local and organic farms. Beef is banned, but the traditional Vietnamese noodle soup boasts organic chicken and herbs. Popular dishes include tofu with scallions, chicken baguette sandwich with Asian greens, caramelized ginger chicken nd tofu, and fresh spring rolls, chicken or vegetarian.
Fresh! must try. organic.

We have been frequenting blue hen for three years and absolutely looove it! I mean, organic AND vegetarian pho? I have yet to find another place that even serves veggie pho. The staff is always friendly. Obviously expect to wait longer when it's crowded, but the food is so tasty that it's worth the extra five minute wait. I love supporting local businesses, and the fact that they ate consciencious about the environment is a plus. They don't even use styrofoam on take out.
Great Food, Relaxed Atmosphere

This place is great. We were there 3 times last week. It's our go-to place for quick, easy and delicious. Love the Spring roles. I'm a major carnivore and I love it. Everything I've had there was terrific. The Chicken or Beef Pho noodle soup with sweet and spicy sides, the Curry, the Rice Noodle Salad with Lemon Chicken is insane. They also have amazing homemade desserts, though we're usually too full to partake. Really yummy. Try it, you'll be a believer. No wine or beer but you can bring your own.
- Pros: Great food, friendly service
- Cons: No wine or beer, fairly limited choices
Fresh, tasty, not greasy--not overpriced!

I was very pleased with my first experience at Blue Hen. Friends at work had recommended it, so I tried it one afternoon. Tried the glass noodles with the imperial rolls-delicious. Light, not greasy. Went back again with my family and ordered and was very pleased with the experience, and we live way across town in Arcadia. It was worth the trip for us!

Looking for a comfort food-like snack on the go? Hand cut turmeric fries are made of russets and Japanese sweet potatoes, and served with a fish sauce dip.
