Best Pub on the West Coast. I stumbled upon this pub when I first moved to the area, the staff was extremely friendly and inviting. I tried the food and just about everything I've tried has been delicious. They have live music on most nights which draw a good crowd, especially on the weekends so get thee early! Fun place to go to meet people, and they have a great Happy Hour.

Great for music, Not so good for the after work crowd. Well, the Dubliner started off to be a GREAT place to go, the food and atmospher was worth the wait but times have changed. Not only is there menu heading torwards the mainstream (doing away with the Yorkshire Pudding and adding Corn Beef Taco's???, oh please), the service just isn't good enough for an ordinary menu. I see how they have just added some new salads, Cobb, Asian Chicken, and Seared Ahi. All these are good salads but hardly works in an Irish pub. Maybe they could consider bringing back the Roast Beef Salad with Horseradish mayo, that was a great salad and fit the theme.

Great Time, Every Time!. I LOVE this place! ...When I need a break from the second street crowd I can always count on the Auld Dubliner for some great live music and a lively crowd! This bar goes off on weekends, so it may take you a minute to get a drink. Be patient, I have never seen these bartenders slacking off if a thirsty customer is in sight. The layout of the bar is great, more than enough room even on the most crowded nights- unless you want a spot on the patio or right next to the bar.

Warning to the ladies... You will most likely need to park in the parking structure and walk if you come on a Friday or Saturday night. So don't wear uncomfortable shoes!! Also, this place is super low key, so but don't dress like you're going to a club or you will sick out like a sore thumb.

**The door guy will validate your parking!!**

Friendly and Fun.. We had so much fun at this place. We walked in and didnt know anyone and ended up meeting people

from differnt cities in california and europe. The place did did get packed quite a bit, but the band played music that was fun to dance to, the crowd was great and the bartenders were really nice.

Not a club, not a meat market, just the best bar in Long Beach.. Great whiskey selection and all the right beers served efficiently by friendly bartenders. Impressive live Irish bands on a regular basis. What really makes this place, though, is the atmosphere. It's not pretentious or stuffy at all, and everyone there (beautiful beach bunnies down to aging sailors) just wants to have a good time. The convention center and Hyatt are right there, so you'll often run into interesting people from all over the place. It gets crowded, but the atmosphere is such that usually bumping into people just makes for more interesting conversation. The music's loud enough to dance to (no one looks cool dancing to Irish music, but here, no one cares!), but not so loud that you can't carry a conversation with that cute girl from Texas who's in town for a teacher's convention or that group of soldiers just back from the war. I love this bar.

Great Live Music on Monday Nights. We showed up on a monday night and couldn't believe how great the band in the corner was. They play Mandolin and Acoustic guitar and sang everysong we love! It was nice because it wasn't too loud and meant we stayed longer! to the Hempstring Duo-Rock on.

These guys are there every monday night!

My Home Away From Home. I love The Dubliner! It is my favorite place to go in Long Beach. All the staff and customers are so friendly. It's the kind of place you can go to by yourself, and leave at the end of the night with many new friends. And the food happens to be delicious as well! On certain nights the place gets quite busy, but you can always find a cozy corner to hang out away from the crowd, or join the locals outside.

In response to a review below, I happen to be an African American female born and raised in Long Beach, and have always been welcomed by the staff and treated with the utmost respect. I find the story below very hard to believe and think that people should get their facts straight before making comments. The bartenders there are great and would never treat a customer unjustly.
