In Short – The royal-blue awning marks this popular corner spot. Inside, a ceramic-tiled bar wraps around the open kitchen while the main dining room is where waitresses in cowboy boots and tank tops weave their way through the crowd of ramshackle tables and chairs. Walls offer a nod to the South--a mounted vintage guitar, Elvis photo and other folksy relics share space with a rotating roster of local artwork. The down-home menu includes sandwiches (beer-braised smoked links, Carolina pulled pork) and platters (Marion County barbecue chicken, smoked dry-rub baby back ribs). All platters…

SOUTH CAROLINA STYLE BBQ

Best BBQ I have tasted!! from the down-home, friendly atmosphere to the exacting preparation of the rubs and sauces. The multitude of flavors for their finger-lickin' dishes are unique and put a different twist on typical BBQ. If you're a fan of this type of fare, you owe it to yourself to check this place out ... it's LA's best-kept BBQ secret. I have now been going to their 2nd location in West Hollywood. You will love it!
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: Nothing
Baby Blues BBQ gave us the BLUES
by WashJan at Citysearch
Went in with high hopes but left with a half full stomach. The Memphis baby back ribs had hardly any smoke flavor and were over charred on the broiler. Same goes for the hot link that wasn't hot in flavor at all. The beans were served tepid and would have been better had they been served warm to hot. The corn was good with the variety of seasonings and cheese. The corn bread was blase, greasy and hard, definately nothing to write about. Back to the BBQ, if this is what you do then SMOKE it don't grill it. I prefer Mr. Cecil's several miles away for their meats. That's the ticket. Mr. cecils for the BBQ meats and Baby Blues for the sides. Bottom line is I find it hard to believe that they call this one of the better BBQ's in LA when thier is nary a smoke ring on any of the meat. Shame, shame, shame.
- Pros: Cute friendly servers and that's it.
- Cons: Overpriced for the portion size, Hardly any smoke flavor
