What People Are Saying About Baby Blues BBQ

Featured Review

The folks lined up outside beneath the blue awning of this crusty ol' joint should give you a clue about the 'cue being served inside. Around since 2004, Baby Blues BBQ has become a Westside institution where waitresses in cowboy boots and tank tops weave their way through crowded ramshackle tables and chairs to deliver messy (we're talking at least 12 napkins-messy), finger-lickin', face-stuffing barbecue. Although most people seem to consider it a hub of Carolina soul food--standards include pulled pork and the obligatory vinegary sauce---the down-home menu is much more of a hybrid with…

There is a much larger second location in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Boulevard.

BBQ sauces

by olebatB

The place is not the cleanest, our table was still greasy even after they wiped it with the dreaded wet towel, I sat there trying not to touch the table with any part of my body.

The food, was a little too salty for me, the only thing I really liked was the corn bread, but my friends seemed to have enjoyed the collard greens and BBQ sauces.

It tasted OK while I was eating it, but I felt like taking a nap right after, so not my kind of food.

Now whenever I go by and see the long line of people waiting, I remember how heavy and bloated I felt after eating there.

I guess it's OK, for one of those days when you feel like eating comfort food

Pros: Corn Bread

Cons:place not so clean

Such a fan

by killarney k

I've been a fan of Baby Blues for a long time. They have stupendous sweet tea, perfect pecan pie, bitchin' blackened catfish, and kickin' collard greens. Everything here rocks. I am not a BBQ afficionado, I only know what I like, and this is it. If you're on a budget, try a small side serving of pulled pork and a collard greens. It's a full meal. If you've got an appetite this is the place to go though, because it's all so good you won't be able to stop eating once you start. They have at least 4 different sauces you can put on your bbq and cool-ade too! When is the last time you had cool-ade? Can't say enough good things about it.

Baby Blue's BBQ

by socalgal23

my dad took me here since he had seen its a couple of times on The Food Network, i had the "Memphis Queen" which included pork and beans, cole slaw and a piece of their corn bread for sides, and i had two different types of ribs, both being different types; and he had a shrimp po'boy with a side of mac n' cheese. the two different types of ribs were well balanced; one set being sweet, yet spicy enough to give it a kick, and the other tasted like their version of "original" BBQ sauce. since I am one who enjoys spicy food, I enjoyed the spicy set more. The corn bread was thick but it didnt have a corn bread taste, the cole slaw was too. the pork and beans and a mild BBQ flavor to them that was enjoyable. They serve Coke products, as well as Kool Aid, their prices were reasonable; $11 for a half rack of ribs, just by themselves. My plate, the "Memphis Queen" was $24.50. overall it its something you have to experience for yourself.

  • Pros: they have an amazing spicy but sweet enough to leave a kick
  • Cons: the cole slaw was bland

Best BBQ I have tasted!! from the down-home, friendly atmosphere to the exacting preparation of the rubs and sauces. The multitude of flavors for their finger-lickin' dishes are unique and put a different twist on typical BBQ. If you're a fan of this type of fare, you owe it to yourself to check this place out ... it's LA's best-kept BBQ secret. I have now been going to their 2nd location in West Hollywood. You will love it!
