Good, but not great. This place is quite good, and well above average, but not worth driving from Santa Monica, Hollywood, or West LA to try. If you live in the South Bay give it a try. The reason I only give this place a recommended is because there is SO much competition for ice cream in the beach cities. Manhattan Beach creamery, Manhattan Beach Gelato, and best of all, Crema Dolce in the Riviera Village of South Redondo are better in my opinion. After those places, the ice cream shop on the end of pier ave in hermosa beach comes next. Not only are all of these ice cream places in very nice beach downtown areas, but the selection at these places are better than lickity splits. Anywhere else, and I would give this place a highly recommended, but it should be 5th on your list in the south bay. As people have said, frozen custard is far better than baskin robins ice cream, but super fresh ice cream made with natural ingredients, more flavors, and mix ins is better than frozen custard in my opinion. lickty split has about 10 flavors with nothing mixed in while Creme dolce has 36 flavors of sorbet, gelato, and extremely fresh ice cream. Still, lickity split is quite good and worth a try if you dont have time to make it to the beach.

Good, but certainly not #1. After reading about Lickity Split being the best ice cream in LA I made a little side trip there while in Manhattan Beach. Was it good? Sure. Was it the best ice cream in LA? Hardly. Would I buy it again if I happened to be by one of their shops? Sure. Would I go out of my way again to visit one of their shops? No. It's not that good.

Editorial Review. Located in the Manhattan Village mall, specializes in frozen custard made fresh daily. Also, juices, coffee, lasagna, sandwiches, quiches, more.

In Search of the best Ice Cream. Or should I say custard. This place has very good custard. They let you taste any flavor you want before buying. Nice atmosphere and quiet. The custard does not soften up like ice cream. Smooth taste and you can also buy by the pint. Please try it out and see for yourself. I highly recommend this place.

All the way from Las Vegas. On a very hot day the only thing that cools me off is Lickity Split frozen custard. I drove all the way from Las Vegas to get some frozen custard, I had to deal with four hours of traffic -- Please, Please open a Lickity Split in Las Vegas!!! It's better than a royal flush!

Wow! Even yummier than Ice Cream!. I was on City Search and saw the other reviews for Lickity-Split.....so I decided to go. I'm glad I did! I've never tasted anything so creamy & smooth. The staff was so nice & very knowledgable about the custard that is actually made FRESH!! I'll be back!

Made me a true Lover of Frozen Custard. I was an ice cream fanatic and would've never agreed to switch to Frozen Custard until a friend invited me to Lickity Split and made me taste it. It's so much smoother, creamier and richer tasting I've become a true Frozen Custard addict now. They also make a mean Tuna croissant-wich that's also addicting!

WOW!. I came upon Lickity Split in El Segundo and decided to give it a try- I'll admit it was partly because it was supposed to be lower in fat that regular ice cream but you certainly can't tell! I love everything pumpkin and I was so excited to see they had a pumpkin flavor! I don't eat ice cream anymore - nothing compares to Lickity Split frozen custard!

better than ice cream! how delicious!!. who would think that there could be something that's better than ice cream. but the folks at lickity split have definitely come up with it. their frozen custard is out of this world.

it's smooth, rich texture is outdone only by how incredibly creamy and delicious it tastes. if you have not tried it, you won't believe what you're missing.

it is absolutely amazing!

YUM!!. I sampled my first frozen custard ever at the Manhattan Village store of Lickity Split. WOW!! This is the most delicous product, smoother and richer tasting than ice cream or even gelato, and super fresh. The store is charming and the service great. They have wonderful seasonal flavors too and use the freshest ingredients.

I cannot wait for their new Hollywood store at the Egyptian Theater to open so I can make a visit a weekly habit.

Tell your friends, Lickity Split is the best treat in town!!!
