Editorial Review for The Otheroom – by Randi Schmelzer
In Short
A much larger version of its popular Manhattan lounge sibling, this Venice Beach outpost features more than 60 domestic, imported and seasonal beers, along with several dozen wines, ports and sherries. Fashionable young professionals slink into low, velvet-padded benches or fill brushed-steel swivel stools along the long, slate-topped bar; weekends attract 30-something singles scoping out the scene. Abstract art hangs on exposed brick walls and indie rock plays via the bartender's iPod.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoNo food is served, but patrons in need of snacks can have food delivered to the bar. Just ask the bartender for the takeout menu stash.
ParkingLook for street spaces along Abbot Kinney, or behind the bar on Electric Avenue. Valet service is available Wednesday through Saturday nights.

Once fun bar is now tragic coke den. This place used to be a lot of fun, even though the music is always a bit too loud. But nowadays, it is a giant over-extended frat party, except all the frat boys are 30, and all the girls look like they are still looking to be little sisters. So instead of a fun and chill place, you now have coke heads openly asking for party favors and coke chicas playing the part to a tee. Pathetic. Try Library Ale house or something. anything...
Pros: Good beer
Cons: bad people

I felt like I had to sign up just to write about this place. It's become my favorite bar on the westside... I even met my boyfriend of almost 8 months here :) It's a really mellow atmosphere with tons of yummy new wines and beers to try. (No hard alchie). That's ok though... I really recommend going Wednesday nights where it gets crowded, but not too crowded. Weekends becomes impossible because the place is so full. This is a must on the westside!
