superb italian food, awful service, extremely nice waiter, great experience, great extravaganza, recommend new place, loved decor

Beautifully decorated, chic Italian restaurant. You can get all your favorite dishes here. Good place for a business lunch.
Possibly racist waiter. Will never come back. The service is quite poor and possibly even racist / ageist. We were there for a weekday lunch and there were a few other patrons. The waiter, an older guy with grey hair, initially took our order. While he was doing so, I get a sense that he was looking down on us. My spouse and I are in our mid-30s with children at home and people of color, dressed semi-formal. However, we never saw him again as he handed off servicing our table to the greeter. Our table was the only table he decided not to service. All the other tables were filled with middle-aged white people. Very disappointed.
Will never go to this place again. If you are asking for bad services and disrepct for the customers, this is the place to go. The owner is a jerk. He treats customers like a nazi. There is no friendliess and kindness in this resturant. The place is always empty. I wonder why. Do not go to this place. Trust me.
Superb. I eat here regularly and the food is superb. The chef is an authentic Italian and so is the food . Jenny K, if you want quantity not quality go elsewhere. This is top notch Italian food with excellent preparation and ingredients.
Best Italian restarant in Los Angeles. I have eaten here regularly since the restaurant opened. If you want real Italian food expertly prepared by a a real Sicilian (not middle eastern) chef, you won't be disappointed. No doubt Jenny K left and ordered a pizza from Dominoes since this appears to be more her style. If you want real, quality, Italian food, this is the place.
Definitely Coming Back.
I went to Palmeri the other night and had a wonderful time. Scallops, handmade garganelli pasta, and colorado lamb chops were all wonderful. And don't even get me started on the cannoli. My date had the flourless chocolate cake, which was also great, but in my opinion, this is the best cannoli outside of Italy. Service was great. My only complaint was the room was a little bright.
To JennyG: the chef at Palmeri is Sicilian, not middle eastern, and I thought the portion size was just right--not elephantine like the cheesecake factory.
Skimpy Meals - Go elsewhere!. I was wondering why toscana across the street was packed while palmeri was empty. I decided to try it anyway. While the food was tasty there meals are skimpy and more the size of appetizers. If you are hungry and want a meal don't go here. This is the type of place you leave and then want to go order a pizza afterwards because you are still hungry. I know it's hard economical times right now..but come on..i'm not paying this restaurants bills to get a couple skimpy pieces of pasta. I will never go back to this restaurant. The other italian restaurants in the neighborhood like La scala give your Real portions. And the chef is a cocky middle easterner who told me to go across the street to the restaurant toscana after i complained. Good business guy.. i give this restaurant 4 months. I'll laugh when i see that it's closed.
Excellent Italian. I think this restaurant is truly what other Italian restaurants should aspire to. My only complaint is that they don't have an amarone by the glass and my grandmother and I can't drink even a half bottle. Beyond that, this is one of my favorite dining destinations in Los Angeles.
Great ambiance, nice waiters, good food - what more can you ask for. I went here for dinner with a friend on a Sunday night, quiet little Italian place. Loved the ambiance and decor, the waiter was extremely nice and gave us excellent wine recommendations. Their Swordfish wrapped prawns are amazing, the best thing we had that night. I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to all my friends.
Melt in your mouth Gnocchi!. Although I was afraid that my friends had overhyped this restaurant, I'm afraid they didn't fully do it justice. This has to be the best Italian food I have had in Los Angeles. The homemade gnocchi was absolutely amazing baked with tomatoes and the freshest mozzarella. They also have a pretty extensive wine list for all of you wine-o's out there. Do yourself a favor -GO HERE.
Comfort and Knowledge! It's not always about where you sit! It's about the FOOD AND SERVICE!. Great experience. Went on an off night because of a friends birthday. Food was great and so was the service. Our waiter Robert recommended all the things that we had on the menu and was correct about everything. Burrata, and a duck ragu pasta. Lovely. I will second, the best cannoli in LA! I've been in the restaurant business since I was 15 years old. It's good to find a place in this city that makes you feel comfortable and that there is still a love for food and guests.
