Great spot in Eagle Rock for wine lovers. Recently met some friends for dinner, we decided to order some food and have it delivered to CWC, which is awesome that CWC lets you do that. We ordered from Four Cafe (see my review for that). So we sat and fist tasted a few options and finally settled on a bottle, we sat enjoyed some wine, our food was delivered the staff at CWC was very accommodating, it was busy for a Wednesday night, possibly since on Wednesdays there is no corkage fee. They had a great selection, it was a comfortable environment and if you don't know wine, seems like a great place to learn something.
Citysearch Editorial Review. This is not a shop for wine snobs. Located on Eagle Rock's Colorado strip, this friendly neighborhood spot makes wine accessible and fun for all. The majority of bottles are $25 and under, and you'll also find imported beer, bubbly and sake. More than a store, this is a comfy place to sip and sample. There's a small, loungey wine bar in the back, or you can snag one of the tables in the picture window in front. Around six wines by the glass are always available (ranging in price from $4 to $9), and there are tastings twice a week. On Fridays from 5:30 to 8:30pm, five wines are offered for $15, while Sundays from 1 to 4pm, you get to sample two reds and two whites for $12. A lovely cheese platter is provided by Auntie Em's, which includes artisanal cheeses, olives, gourmet nuts, fruit, jam and crackers. Wander the store as you peruse the rotating art on display, or shop for fun wine accessories--Chewbacca wine stopper, anyone? While they don't serve food, patrons are welcome to bring in takeout, or order in from nearby restaurants; food is frequently delivered from Four Cafe and Brownstone Pizza, and The Oinkster is just a few yards away.
The Best, Most Down-to-Earth Wine Store in the Universe!!!. Every Wednesday and Friday you'll find us here. Wednesdays are no corkage and George will keep your glass filled, Fridays get a little crazy but are always a blast. You can do a tasting of 5 wines (usually 2 whites and 3 reds for $15) or just go with the heavy pour by-the-glass. The wines they find are truly inspired, inexpensive and delicious. The cool thing is you can bring home a bottle or even a case of that crazy good Malbec you tried for the first time without mortgaging your future. This is just the best, most comfortable wine store/bar in the known world that is Eagle Rock and all points beyond!
Hidden Gem. Aside from the wonderful selection of affordable wines in the store, Colorado Wine offers an intimate bar and art scene much needed in Eagle Rock. It's lovely to walk in and sip on a glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon.
Editorial Review. Eagle Rock wine shop features wine tasting throughout the week and an extensive selection of wines, sakes, and wine accessories.
I love this place!. I live in Eagle Rock, and I love our Colorado Wine Company! They are always so friendly and helpful. I walk in and tell them what I'm cooking that evening and they give me great recommendations. I've yet to be disappointed with the wines I take home!
Wonderful Wine and a Wonderful Experience - Creative Inventory, Value Finds. Great staff, very helpful, very fun, very knowledgeable. It is a pleasure to buy wine here. The wines they taste are creative and true "value finds" for any level of wine lover. The owners have done the best job I have ever experience of finding great wines at affordable prices. I highly recommend the Colorado Wine Company.
Great local wine company. What not to like: easy parking, great people running the place, reasonable prices, & great food with Friday tastings
A great store. A godsend to have such a good wine store on your doortep. the staff really knwo their stuff, and though the selection is relatively small they pick out a lot of gems and rotate enough to keep even the most regular customer surprised. A fantastic place to get wine and share your enjoyment of it with other enthusiasts.
Won't be a well-kept-secret for long.
My husband and I have been in many times since CWC opened. It is such a great shop. As long time Eagle Rock citizans, we are so happy that such a great store has opened on Colorado Blvd. Not only do they have great wines at super prices, the owners are warm and helpful, full of information about wine. The store has a great feel to it. I'm a design buff, and I really enjoy their space.
One of the best things at CWC is the "Week of Wine." The owners select four wines, two reds and two whites usually, that are great values, are interesing and are full of flavor. All in a handy carrier.
Two thumbs up, way up!
(BTW, there is a small amount of parking in back, for those who are parking challenged or don't like to walk.)
