Highly recommend for corporate events / catering. I recently asked Taste to cater a corporate event my company was holding in LA. Being from New York, I wasn't familiar with the local vendors but came across Taste online and the reviews were all positive. I'm pleased to say that they were all true! I have only wonderful things to say about the food and staff. Johanna, who leads the private events team, was an absolute joy to work with. She was organized, professional, very friendly and was willing to go above and beyond by bringing small table decorations to make the room seem warmer and festive. She made sure she knew the venue layout in advance and planned ahead regarding how and where the food was going to be prepared / served. Her staff were all very pleasant and moved effortlessly through the room of guests, making sure everyone tried each dish and didn't leave hungry. The food was outstanding and after working with several different caterers in the past, I must say that the dishes served by Taste really stood out. I would highly recommend using them for any small or large private events you have coming up. You won't regret it!

Taste on Melrose: Good eats; Nice outdoor seating. Had the following from the brunch menu, all were excellent:

- white truffle oil mushroom mac n cheese

- ahi tuna sandwich

- crab cake benedict

The pomme frites were cool because they were thinly shaved. Tasted very light and airy. Unlimited momosas were perfect...got myself a nice afternoon buzz. Great place to chill in booshie shopping area but without pretentious people.

Fantastic Weekend Brunch. This was a fantastic brunch spot to find! The food was delicious, as were the mimosas and bellinis. The prices were good considering how high-quality the food was. We sampled the Nutella brioche french-toast, crab cake eggs Benedict, breakfast panini and protein scramble. Each was superb! The service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was lovely. Rustic yet chic. Very L.A. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Love the steak!. My cousin brought me here and I have loved it ever since. The space is really cute - small and cozy and the service is friendly. The steak is one of the best I've had and I love the mashed potatoes. It gets pretty packed at night, so be sure to come early if you can or make a reservation ahead of time. Other than the cramped space Taste is great!

A great place to sample many flavors. My friends and I love to share dishes, especially when trying new restaurants. We had red+golden beet salad, proscuitto pizetta, and one prix fixe with smaller portions (perfect for taste-sharing!) of mac+cheese, Kobe beef meatballs (pine nuts and golden raisins mixed in) and chocolate bread pudding. DAAAAANG!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Unlike some of the nearby high-end restaurants (and shops, for that matter), this indoor/outdoor bungalow is unpretentious and friendly. Sitting two-by-two along the covered deck or at marble-topped tables in the snug dining room, perfectly mussed WeHo foodies share herb- and veggie-heavy California fare. The rustic, NorCal-inspired menu includes seasonal finds like white truffle mac 'n' cheese, salads and pizzettas. The unusual but simple starter of grilled romaine lettuce topped with warm gorgonzola, bacon and Granny Smith apples is a must-try. Main course highlights like the popular Kobe beef burger and crispy parmesan chicken paillard atop creamy potato puree step things up, while the friendly waitstaff and decor of soft browns and deep red maintain a down-to-earth vibe.

Mediocre at Best. I went here for brunch and the portions were extremely bland and small. We waited for 10 mins as waiters and waitresses passed by our table without acknowledging us and we had to literally stop one of them to say we were ready to order. I got a breakfast burrito and basically the eggs had the consistency of a sponge and had absolutely no taste. I am not sure how this place got such a high rating.

Example: great place for good bread. I didnt know what to get, so i kept it simple and safe with a burger and some fries. i was pleased and felt really good about spending my money on it. The place was really jumping, but it made me want to stay longer like I would actually miss something, lol...........
