Definitely worth trying!. I adore this place! It is such a cute place to go and eat. I have been here many, many times and each time I leave waiting to come back. My favorite dish is the tofu meatballs - a fantastic option for vegetarians. Although I have heard mixed reviews on the paella, I really enjoyed it. The tofu burger is yummy too. I have also had their agadashi tofu, but it is hard to get that wrong. Overall, the food is simple and portions are just what you need. I love that GR/eats isn't pretentious, but trendy at the same time. The wait staff is always courteous and prompt. Fish and other daily specials are great too!

Great hidden find!. My husband and I have been here several times, and it is always good. It is a very cute, casual hole in the wall type of place. Do not be deceived by the appearance and the lack of people inside. It might not look as appealing as some of the other restaurants on Sawtelle, but you will be surprised by the food quality. The fried chicken is great, as are the tofu meatballs. But our favorite item by far is the tempura ice cream. It is definitely one of our favorite deserts! If you ever find yourself in the area looking for a good, quiet place to eat where you don't need reservations, give this place a try.

Offshoot of Giant Robot store offers cafeteria-style ambiance and eclectic menu to neighborhood foot traffic.. Reminiscent of a high-end high school cafeteria or tiny commissary, this quirky spot is set back from the street on Sawtelle's restaurant row. Opened by the same duo behind the neighboring Giant Robot store and GR2 gallery, the menu is a hodgepodge of ethnic food, from teriyaki chicken and fish tacos to pasta and crepes. Expect to see a mix of passersby enchanted by its oddities, zine aficionados and disenchanted diners from the more popular restaurants with longer lines.

Tasty fried chicken!. I've never had to wait to sit down at this restaurant, and the waitresses are really nice (I've never had a waiter). If there is a wait, you can go next door to the GR2 store and shop around for electic Japanese toys. The fried chicken is amazing, and the portions are enough to fill.

Unique food, great veggie options. I love this quaint little diner in the spirit of Giant Robot. Great vegetarian options in a low stress atmosphere. We had the veggie meatballs which we delicious. Service was down home and super friendly. The special, which was the crispy shrimp salad with mango, was so delectable that I think I'll have a hard time finding a comparable salad. Very affordable and a very good experience.

Tastes Like Japanese Food Cooked by Caucasians. I had heard good things about Gr/eats, but this unfortunately was all hype. I had been looking forward to their mixed fries (potatoes, yams, and bananas), but it was mainly a plate full of french fries with a couple pieces of fried yams and bananas. I can get better fries at McDonalds for half the price. The tempura was way too oily and the dressing that came with the seared tuna salad was bland. I most likely will not return. Oh, prices are inexpensive, so the restaurant should have a "$" instead of "$$."

looks can be deceiving.... This is actually a very good little hole-in-the-wall place. The menu is very eclectic, with many vegetarian/vegan options. So it satisfies everyone. It ranges from Mayan Mole to gourmet burgers and from thai curry to Spanish Paella. Everything we got was very toothsome. Ordered too much but still managed to finish. Highly recommend the tofu meatballs, surprisingly good. Of course, i had to spill my tea. The waitress was very friendly and made me feel better. To finish everything off, she brought us all some almond jello. Nothing is better than a complimentary dessert.

Wonderful Hidden Find. Very tasty food with a wonderful presentation at a very affordable price. Try their hamburger--they put a great spin on this classic and serve it either with mixed fries (potatoes, sweet potatoes, et al) or a fancy little salad. The curry shimp is quite nice too.

Great Value. The menu is a mix of Japanese and Salvadoran food. I eat here often because they have a few half size portions which are very affordable and taste a lot better than some of the other places on the strip. It 's also not crowded. I don't recommend the Paella, but so far everything else has been done really well. The portion are generous and the presentation is something you would expect at a high end restaurant.

Not as pricey as you think. I was there the first week it opened and was pleasantly surprised. My mayan chicken was ok, though I am looking forward to trying the other dishes soon. Its a great new reason to visit West LA's Little Tokyo. The ambience is simple and the one waitress did a fine job handling the entire place. I'll go back again!
