Stop... Go somewhere else. I had lunch last Thursday and what a gross experience. I got sushi lunch with salad. When the sushi arrived I noticed on piece of ahi looked different and stupid me I bit into it. Smell, old and made me ill. I told the waitress and she gave it to the manager and I can see him laughing and joking with the sushi staff. He brought the new piece over didn't say a word to me a ran away. I told the waitress how upset I was and I felt ill but know one cared. Next thing I see is the bill. I didn't finish the food but they charged me. I called the corporate office 4 times to tell them what happened and I can't get anyone to call back.

I still can't each fish and still have a sick stomach. Health Dept should check this place

This place literally made me sick for an entire week. I have been to Kabuki about a dozen times on some of my many visits to Pasadena and I used to actually really like their food. Its not the best sushi (best sushi is at Sushigo55) but I liked Kabuki enough to keep going back, until that one last time ...

I dont remember anything tasting bad or "off" or anything but throughout that day I started feeling worse until nighttime when my body gave up fighting. Apparently citysearch doesn't allow me to go into much more detail, but every 30 minutes I was running to the bathroom until morning. After that I couldn't eat anything for a couple days. I was seriously ill for about a week. If I didn't feel like I was getting better and if I had health insurance then I would've seen a doctor or gone to the hospital.

I will never return to this place even if their management offered an apology with a free meal.

Where's the server?. I didn't even get a chance to try the food here. The service was so poor my party left before we even got water. We went today for my birthday. It was about 5 on a saturday but they were surprisingly not busy. We were seated and given menus immediately. But then after sitting there for a good 15 to 20 minutes, with tons of servers walking padt us without any acknowledgement, my friend stopped a girl and politely asked for some waters. 5 minutes later she came back by with a tray of waters and walked right past us. That is when we walked out.

Best sushi I've ever eaten.. Great sushi. The service tends to be a little lacking, especially when they are busy, but the food makes up for the lack of personal attention given.

SoCal Japanese mini-chain satisfies with solid, well-priced sushi , teriyaki, noodles and beyond.. In Short
Interiors boast sleek, modern design, with an eye toward mixing traditional decor with more trendy elements like track lighting and exposed brick. All branches are located near major shopping areas such as Old Town Pasadena, Cerritos South Street and in the Howard Hughes Center. The menu features entrees such as tempura, teriyaki, hibachi plates; noodle dishes like udon and soba; and a full range of sushi. Full bar available along with sake, wine and beer.

its a quick fix to sushi. i remember when kabuki first came to pasadena. all the workers are korean and tried to be japanese. still its like it today, if you go here, all the workers are korean. even the sushi chefs. the food isnt all that authentic but it does seem somewhat fresh. yes there are better sushi places in pasadena but if you want somewheree cheap, then this is the place for you. on the happier note, the kabuki on foothill, near best buy is WAY better then the one on old town. something about the place in oldtown doesnt seem right.

Bad Sushi At KABUKI. kabuki has got to be one of the worst sushi restaurants ive ever been to. i love sushi, so im always looking for a new place to try. when im going out to eat with friends, kabuki seems to be the sushi 'no-brainer', but the food is awful; the portions of the rolls are cheap, and the flavor is nothing to write home about. its hard to walk away satisfied with small portions at such a high price, and feel good about what you ate and paid for. in my opinion, theyre much too expensive for the quality. i like to compare kabuki to the mcdonalds of sushi restaurants. ive been here quite a few times for parties, friend gatherings, etc, and its always the same, ive come to the conclusion that its just that their food is BELOW PAR for people who truely love sushi and know what quality is! like i said before, the portions are skimpy, the fish isnt too fresh, and really, my taste buds were insulted! the service at the restaurant in old town pasadena is terrible, too. i sat for almost 30 mins waiting for a drink refill and my check, i finally got so irritated that i went to the front desk to ask for my check and didnt leave a tip! it wasnt busy at all, so why should i tip a lazy waitress?! if you want great sushi at a cheaper price for larger portions try Niko Niko in Burbank! ;]

So-so sushi. Only been here once, so someday I'll give it another try but. . . . the sushi rolls were ok. Some didn't seem fresh (were warm instead of cold) or loosely put together. Service was not so good either. Long time to get our food and after we finished it was like we were abandoned. We had a hard time tracking down our server to get the check. We knew one of the managers so, of course, he was good to us. The place wasn't too busy when we got there but I'm sure during more popular hours the place is pretty busy (being on Colorado and having the chain-restaurant name).

Decent sushi, cool location. In the heart of Old Town, this Kabuki has a nice patio out front where you can people-watch. Their sushi is perfectly decent, and their rolls were tasty. There's a parking lot that gives you three-hours free around the corner on Delacey.
