What People Are Saying About Blue Palms Brewhouse
Featured Review

If your passion is a perfect draft beer, look no further than this newly revamped Hollywood haunt that serves up 24 American microbrews on tap--many found nowhere else--served in real glassware at the proper temperature and gas mixture. The crowd's diversity adds to the energy-- everyone from fancy Pantages theatergoers to faux-hawked punks from the adjacent Henry Fonda Music Box--while an Old Hollywood vibe is alive and well with original 1920's high wooden beams, terrazzo floors, mirrors and hefty oak tables. The upscale yet unpretentious menu offers favorites like fish and chips, hot wings,…
Editor's Tips
- Look Good:
- To enter the Fonda easily, a doorway connects the lounge and the venue, just have your ticket ready. On concert nights, a live screen will simulcast the show.
- Parking:
- Street parking is usually available, but there are also two pay lots on the block.
- What to Drink:
- The revolving beer list features truly hard to find drafts--it's the only place you'll find Firestone Parabola in the country--as well as fresh cask ales. There are 24 additional bottled microbrews ranging from Allagash Curieux to Fantome and Westmalle Trappist Triple.

Blue Palms Brew House is an excellent bar for the Hollywood Community!
by catlady69
I heard about the Blue Palms Brew House through City Search, thank you for the reviews!
We were the first to arrive a little after 5:00 p.m. and it was really hard to make a beer selection because this bar has all the delicious beers on draft that anyone could ever want! The owner Brian and the bartender Adam were both super nice and there was a cool blonde waitress that was friendly as well. The music was pretty good and the beer is fantastic. I started out with an Oaked Arrogant Bas.... and could have continued drinking just that, but tried some others like: Old Chub, Black Orchard, a crazy warm cask beer, Old Viscosity which my husband loved the most, Firestone Reserve and then a flight of mixed beers including Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.
There was a food special on 25 cent wings which were ok, but the draft beers are not discounted from 5-7 p.m., only the other drinks like hard alcohol and bottled beers are discounted normally. My tip for all you die hard city search beer drinking people is to go on Wednesday because 5 -7 is $3.00 pint night featuring one particular awesome beer. I can't wait to go back! It's the gold door just left of the Henry Fonda enterance.
- Pros: Nice atmosphere, clean, best fresh, unique beer selection in LA.
- Cons: TV's at the bar and in the restaurant with the volume up at times.
finally, GREAT BEER ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD!!!!!
by aintnodaytripper
if you're as bitter as i am about the draft beer selection in hollywood, THIS IS YOUR NEW BAR. 24 awesome beers on tap, most of which you can't even find in stores, let alone bars. the firestone unionjack ipa and the saison dupont are standout...and i always have to try the beer on cask, which i think changes weekly. oh, and did i mention they have amazing food as well??? great munchie/beer drinking food as well as delicious entrees...the buffalo chicken dip and the burgers are fantastic. the staff is super chill and very knowledgable, the music is spot-on (they even have a juke box!), and the whole place lacks that pretentious "hollywood" vibe that drives locals like me crazy...in fact, the only semblance of pretention is that they don't serve terrible beer! but fear not, if you don't know your beers the bartenders and servers are more than happy to recommend a few and and give you samples. the brewhouse is DEFINITELY a reason to venture east of the pantages...this place is forsure the best bar on the hollywood strip.
- Pros: BEER!!! service, food, atmosphere, etc
- Cons: nope.
BLUE PALMS BREWHOUSE NOW OPEN!!
by nonplatonic
The brewhouse is finally here! And it exceeds all expectations. 24 beers on tap, one cask engine, and a very interesting bottle list makes this a beer-lover's paradise! I had the Stone 08-08-08 on draft, which was released the same day the brewhouse opened as well as the Saison Dupont. Both were rich in flavor and very satisfying! As for the food, it was also stellar. The beer steamer appetizer was spectacular, as were the fried mozzarella! Looking around, people seemed equally impressed with the sandwich and burger lists. I had the Halibut, which was well seasoned and came with near-perfection mashed potatoes. Service was casual and friendly. All-in-all, a great night out. I will definitely be back again soon!
- Pros: beer list, service, food
- Cons: the bar was a little crowded

by bsayers
I heard tha Blue Palm is turning into a high end "Beer Joint" (for lack of a better term) - it's about time!
Hollywood has needed this for a long time. A place that serves micros & hard to find beers and spirits.
Can't wait until it opens.
