great sushi, good food, really good only place, horrible service, very affordable atmosphere, favorite rolls, worst sushi experience
The Best!!!. Me and my sister love this place. Everytime we want sushi this is the place we go to. They already know who we are because of how much we've been there. Always fresh and yummy sushis. Love it!!!!
You will be greatly disapointed !. The manager at the Sunset location is hot tempered with the customers because he raised his voice at me when I complained. But its a fact that once all my tables dishes were placed down, we ate everthing seemed like it was going well in spite of all the very bad reviews here. I was eating there last Friday night at 9 pm. The restaurant was sitting almost empty too. When it was time to get the bill I looked for my waitress and didnt see her so I waved another employee. That didnt do anything but I finaly saw my waitress and she would have passed by my table without a hows everything. She almost was gone from me and I called her attention. ITS TRUE SERVICE IS THE WORST IN TOWN AT THIS SUSHI DAN. I TOLD DOUG THE MANAGER AFTER HE RAISED HIS VOICE AT ME BECAUSE I TOLD HIM HOW BAD THE SERVICE WAS, THAT YOU ARE SO RUDE AND IM NEVER EATING THERE AGAIN THEN i HUNG UP. ACTUALLY THE FOOD HAD NO TASTE EITHER. THEY WILL CLOSE DOWN SOON. THREE YEARS AGO THEY WERE A HOT SPOT AND YOU HAD TO WAIT FOR A TABLE.
I've been going to sushi dan for a couple of years now and they've never dissapointed me. If they're slow, then that means they're busy. Any normal human being can understand how it feels to be busy if you work somewhere with customers...
Long story short, whenever my gf and I talk of where to go for sushi, we always end up at Sushi Dan!
Great for Food, Club Prices for Drinks.
I ordered the Baked Langostino Lobster on a Cali Roll and just about bit my jaw it was so good. Not only was it super tasty, it was a great value.
My only complaint with this place is the cost of the drinks; my drink cost more than my food, no exaggeration.
REALLY good, laid-back sushi place. really great sushi, so much to choose from at really good prices... 911 role & hungry role are the best!... parking available in a huge complex and they validate parking also... has a room which has a great view of sunset to dine by... overall GREATTTT
Great place for a dinner party. I had my 20th birthday dinner at Sushi Dan and was quite pleased. I made advance reservations and they accomodated around 15 of my friends at no extra service charge. The service provided was great and the food was good too. The Danny roll is very popular and the tempura also tasted great. The tempura ice cream was delicious! I also spotted Johnny Knoxville at the bar ;)
Don't go even if it's convenient. The service is slow. It takes 30 minutes for your lunch to be brought to your table. I've tried to have lunch here 3 times now and the service is always the same, slow and bad. The green tea ice cream tastes like soap. I had a hair in my tuna sushi. I don't recommend it. Zero stars.
A DIsappointing Night Out With My Friends. Went into sushi dan a few nights ago and I had the WORST experience in my restaurant history. I guess I should have spotted the rating which was a (B) because that could have saved me. I walked in with my friends and there wasn't a host in sight to seat us. More people started to come in and they said they usually just seat themselves?? So, we found a spot in the restaurant and took a seat. Ten minutes later, some gentleman asked if we have been helped then told us he would go get our server. Time went by and it wasn't until I went up to a young lady to find our server, someone came over. We ordered our drinks which took +10 minutes to get .The server gave us some time (since it was our first time at sushi dan) to look over the menu. I had a few questions so I tried to have a small conversation with my server about some of his favorite rolls and it was like i was talking to a machine. He smirked at me, said there all good rolls, then sprinted away. I guess I would have understood (being a server myself) if he explained one of his favorites and said he would explain some other rolls when he would return, but NO. I know it can get busy in a restaurant like this but I felt like I was an incovience for the server. When I go out to dine with my friends I dont want to feel like an incovienvce for the restaurant to serve me. I want to feel like the guest that I am. I'm usually pretty good at not complaining but when its this BAD, someone had to say something. I asked for the manager at the end of our meal, but the young man who went to go get the manager, said he wasnt around?! Was he lying to me? Or does sushi dan even have someone in charge? By our experience there, and Im sure many others who have had the same experience wont go back to sushi dan ever again. So if you like to be ignored and if you have an issue with your food or service expect your problem to be unsolved and walk out with one of the WORST experiences of going out to dinner with your friends.
More like "Sushi Darn!". Went there once late last year 2007, and it was not bad, went back tonight, and it WAS bad! Horrible sushi, fishy tasting crab meat, and then completely tasteless shrimp tempura: tasted like they bought the shrimp tempura at Costco and deep fried them. NO FLAVOR! Lobster roll, NO FLAVOR! It was bad. I told the waiter that the food was lifeless, without flavor, and didn't taste like anything. He shrugged his shoulders. Typical minimum wage mentality. No more Sushi Dan for us. There are better sushi places around than Sushi Darn.
Danny Rolll!!. Okie the sushi there is good!! the service isn't the best service i have ever had but they're open reallly late so u have to consider that these people are tired! overall its not a bad place to go and make sure to try the Crazzzy Dani Roll and the baby lobster roll.
