In Short – David Judaken's latest venture has transformed 4,800 square feet of a former office building into a tropical island-inspired dreamland. The club's Balinese design emphasizes sensuous colors and textures, with bamboo, batik and carved-wood accents. A rotating DJ lineup features, among others, promoter Michael Sutton on opening night. Young A-list celebs from Paris Hilton to Mischa Barton have been regulars fixtures ever since.

Mood when it first opened was really hot! It kind of died out for a while but after revamping the place is absolutely back on its way up.

HORRIBLE Rip Off Artists!

by TDay

Most bouncers and door staff have attitude at clubs, but this place is downright abusive. There is this gigantic fat pig, usually in a beige suit who yells and swears at everybody, in between cigarettes and gorilla-like chest beating. A direct quote was "I am the man, if you want to get in you better do what I SAY; if anyone wants to get up in here!!!!" Then he has a staff of other pigs screaming at everyone to get in line or leave the vicinity of the club. It's not even about clearing the sidewalk, they were being abusive to people down the street. Of course, when a brawl broke out, when some guy starting hitting this helpless girl, not one of them lifted a finger to help. Oh, and one particular bouncer made it a point to let us know that he takes $60 to let people in. Seriously, for a little hole-in-the-wall dark room, over-priced weak drinks and a DJ? No, thanks!

Then, the wait times are purposely extended beyond usual times so they can scam people into overpriced bottle service. On the night we went they all of a sudden decided to freeze the door because they were at "capacity" only to yell at everyone that they would do us the FAVOR of allowing us a TWO bottle minimum (over $700) "VIP" service if we wanted to get in! It's just a rinky dink little club! It is surely not serious enough to extort so much money from people; most of whom they already have on their meaningless "guest list"!

Btw, forget all this BS about guest lists. You will be in line with all the walk-ups anyway. It means absolutely nothing, except that the promoters get a cut of your cover, since they helped the club in having you show up. Also, their flyers promoting special celebrity hosts and afterparties are usually lies, as well. No one shows except for the regular folks hoping to get a shot at seeing a celebrity.

Such is LA. All show and no substance!!!

  • Pros: good music
  • Cons: RIP OFF aritsts! Abusive at door.
