Once was enough for an Experience – Element is a cool spot. Went there recently for a fraternity hosted party, and it was cool. The DJ was all over the place though...and the diversity levels are relatively low. The one thing I didn't really care for is the on-stage performance by an artist no one knew for real, and the fight that brought out was so not cool.
I had a great time!!!!! – Hey all. I had a cool time at Element when I visited. Really good DJ .... Massive place. Great when rammed on a saturday night.
Great venue for parties - great music - I still love this place – ELEMENT has been going for ages. Sure. But personally I still love the music and the vibe - especially thei special events. I still think it is one of the best places for private parties and it is big enough to not have people in your face. I always like going and find the staff on the door polite and helpful. I can only think that anyone who says otherwise is being agressive as I always go there and they are polite to everyone. They also have a really good team for organising stuff so I had my birthday there and loved it.
empty club.. – me and a couple of friends went to element on Wednesday, right before Halloween eve, we only went there because one of my friends lover is a promoter for that wack club..well right when we got to the club there was 3 gurls and 1 guy with us, we were all the on the guestlist and when we got in the front door, the stupid b_ was going to let one gurl in for free and two gurls for 10 $ each and then 20@for my guy friend, even though we were on the list.. stupid club was trying to milk us for money n e ways when we had talk to the other promoter and the other promoter talk some sense to the gurl and we were about to live till finially they let us in for free, once we got in the club...it was empty..nobody was in there..and we were so happy that we didnt pay for the stupid club..the club was small but they did play good music, i could them that..a couple of cute looking guys but dont waste your time at this club... it looks ugly from the outside, and they try to promote this club as its some celebrity club but it was so bad...n e ways dont waste your time here
Don't Waste Your Time – Another generic hole in the wall in LA. I highly doubt any real Celebs like Alba or Lachey would be caught dead in that place. Even if a celeb was spotted in that place, it wouldn't make it cool, they were probably just asking for directions to Le Deux.
I had tables and bottles for 12 on a Saturday night. No problems finding my name on list since there were only about 4 names on the list, total. The problem was paying "top hot spot" prices for the tables when they looked like borrowed booth benches from Denny's. No joking. The benches were made of cheap vinyl and most of them had rips in them. The place looks like it doubles as a mechanics garage in the day. No frills no effort decor. It was about 11:30 on a Saturday night and the place was dead. Well that is except for the d-bags lurking around wearing thier roommates borrowed Affliction shirts.
I had 8 girls and 4 guys. We decided it would be better just to pay the cover and buy our own drinks all night. I'm sure we could've sat down at any one of the empty tables if we wanted to rest. However, the a-hole "doorman" didn't like the fact that we called BS on their VIP section. He forced us out to go wait in line to get in. Mind you, we were the line! There was no one else waiting to get in. He just wanted take what little power he has in life and lord it over us. Poor guy, forcing good paying customers to wait in a pointless line is his only joy in life.
Anyway, the happy ending to this story is that I explained the situation to my promoter buddy and he was able to get us into a decent place called Vanguard. Even at about mid-night, their door people honored my friends request to get us in w/ no waiting. I had 2 to 1 ratio of girls to guys and we had to pay cover, but hey, what do you expect? Mid night in Hollywood? Just arriving? Seems fair. Btw, Vanguard... great choice!
Avoid pretentious doormen and rude bouncers. Element is a wannbe club for wanabe clientele.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like this place. – It got two stars for dancing and having a lot of guys, but I agree with the other posters. The female bartenders are rude bitches, and the bouncers weren't much better than what the other posters said. I would've been ticked if I paid to get in there. And those drinks they try to get you to buy have no alcohol content whatsoever. I will never go back.
Worst Line and Over Priced Drinks – They state free Vodka Bar for an hour...We got there at 10pm and waited in line till 11:30pm. They hold the line to make it seem like its "Happening". There are snotty people manning the door, guess they actually think they are cute?! They would let ugly skinny girls in first. Some looked like they had rain boats on .. was Hilarious. There was a group of us (12 to be exact) because there where men in our group we waited, and waited, and waited. We paid the ridiculous $20.00 cover to discover beers where $8.00 (they only had 3 beers to chose from) and drinks where $15.00.
Save yourself the agony. There are really nice places to go to worth the $20.00 and price drinks. This is no STANDARD or Elevate...hahaha...This place is a Joke.
They're decor was 3 metal things hanging from the top of "Bottle service tables" (don't get bottle service) you are in the middle of the room and people are falling all over you and the chairs and table are elf size, hahaha.
Go here at you own risk...this place blows...don't believe me...try it, hahahaha.
Great Saturday Nights, Free Vodka first hour, Great D.J.'s – One of my favorite spots to go on a Saturday, well for one its Free Vodka Bar, where you can drink as much vodka as you can handle. This great venue has a large crowd and two dance floors with a large outside social section so you can actually talk if you are tired of dancing. I promote Saturday nights at Element as well as many other Hollywood clubs, email me for guest list with "Guest List" in the subject line and your phone number for contact in the body. My email is M_Zdar@hotmail com. If your on my guest list you will have no problems getting in the door and if you contact me ahead, ill can come outside and get you depending on who you are.
Best Friday nght EVER!!! – I just went to club Element last Friday (March 14, 2008) and I can tell you it was the best Friday ever. I have been to The Highlands, Les Duex, and other supposed "Friday night hot-spots" but none of them were like Element. I talked to a promoter from Clubworks who promised me 1000+ people and did not lie! There was a huge amount of amazing looking girls and guys, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The guys were kind of shady, but it not a problem if you have a few guy friend protecting you just like any other spot. We got on the guestlist and the girls were free and the guys were only $10. The only draw back was having to get there early to make it in time before the list closed. The drinks were kind of highly priced but you were given a huge amount. My shot was the size of a double!! The night didnt end till after 2 and I will be coming here on a regular basis!
I dont recommend this place at all. the cover is 20 dollars and the drinks are way overpriced. cocktails are 12 bucks. it would take an average male like70 bucks just to get a good buzz going. the only good thing about this place is the women i saw there were hot. but its hollywood there are hot women everywhere. there are better place a couple blocks away from this place, where the women are equally as hot, free to get in and the drinks are about half the price.
