best place, nasty crowd, stupid club, rude bouncers, cool hollywood spot, arrogant owner, huge dance floor
Good for Dancing, but...... Went on a saturday night with 2 girlfriends and got right in - noticed the line was mostly guys, but they all seemed to get in eventually also. The DJ was spectacular, mixing in equal parts current stuff and some great old school stuff as well. There is a lot of room to dance, however as the night goes on, the tables (in the middle of the bar as well as the one at the edge of the dance floor) get crowded and people start standing around the tables, NOT dancing although they are on the dance floor, which is annoying. Also, apparently the owner of the place thinks he is the only person who doesn't have to follow California State law.... I saw at least 6 people smoking (both cigarettes & joints) and when I said something to the security guard standing RIGHT NEXT TO THOSE WHO WERE SMOKING, I was told "Yeah, it's cool, they know the owner & he's cool with it so I can't really do anything about it". Despite the DJ being awesome and it being one of the better dance clubs in Hollywood, we ended up leaving because of all the smoking. If people want to smoke outside & smell like an ashtray, I could care less, but to allow it inside is completely unacceptable. Apparently the owner of element is better than the rest of us here in California & doesn't bother enforcing silly little things like the LAW......
Never go.... They over charged my credit card three times and the bouncers like to rough up the clientele when they feel like having some fun... not my idea of a good time. When I tried to contest the charges, they just slammed the door in my face... the nightclub business has interesting ethics...
everything was terrible. Just went there tonite...and it was a great disapointment. The crowd was getto and the chicks were mediocre. Not what you expect when you go to a hollywood club. I also had the worst vodka tonic i have ever tasted and i had to pay 22 for both which is terrible
nasty crowd. If your looking for a nasty crowd and a lot of fights- this is the place to be. I personally was disgusted. Won't be returning here! They are missing lots of ELEMENTS.
Good Bar For Girls. If you're a girl, you'll have no problem walking right on in. If you're a guy... good luck. Theres always LONG lines and if you don't know "someone" then you will be waiting a good amount. Once inside, its a HUGE place that fits plenty, so it has never been crowded when I have gone. The drinks are expensive, but at least it doesn't take a while to get your drink. I would recommend this bar, if you're a girl. haha. The boys are cute too. I've seen some famous non-A-list celebs, such as JC Chavez, Shane West and the Lawrence Brothers
NEVER GO HERE!.
I left my credit card and license at this bar and they WOULD NOT give it back. I went to the club 3 times - was turned away each time and told to call their corporate office - which I did ELEVEN times - never heard back. I am now suing them for stolen property and had to fill out a police report.
This place is bad and full of criminal activity. From what I hear they are going to be shut down. STAY AWAY.
DOOR STOPER. 1st timer..all i can say is at least you got in the door. my adventure started last month, It was Friday, I had just picked up a rental but was at home looking cockeyed and seeing double. Didn't want to do that since they gave me free gas so you know what that meant "roadtrip". I found out Talib Kweli was performing for 'FREE", at Element. Doors open at 10pm, had to hurry.... turned onto Las Palmas and there it was my 1st bad sign, a park allmost right in front of the club, across the street. there were people along both doors, some looked excited, other like "why am I here, really?". Well I was excited thinking hey now, I get to come to a club where celebs party at FOR FREE. well everything that glitters is not gold... As I was standing in the wrong line "VIP" I heard people who were going in talking then noticed they were only letting people in who knew someone or was with such and such. I'm new to the LA scene so I wanted to know if they were ever going to let us little peon's in or were we just wasting our time standing in line hoping to get something for nothing.. The guard said "well, thats the way they do it". I don't know anyone who works for a radio station, promotes party or makes music so I guess I wasn't going to be getting in on this night. So, I picked myself up and left around 1am..not sure if the others standing in line before I arrived ever got in.. It seemed the club was allready pretty full with the "OTHERS".. I know it was a free event but man, we peon's are true fans and just because we don't know anybody who can get us into the party should not mean that we get excluded. mix it up.... it seems fair... I'm not sure if the club owners, managers or whoever was aware or cared what was going on outside, but they really should because outside is the front line of their business, the place were most get there 1st impression, you can miss out on a fabulous customer due to the fact they never got in the door in the first place........
sleazy and smoky!!!.
we went on a friday night and didn't have a problem getting in because we knew someone. at first glance this place was pretty cool, it looked like a warehouse in new york. unfortunately, the place is all about the bottle service, you can't stand next to a table without being told to move. you really don't have a place to chill after you grab your drink or even after you leave the dancefloor unless you head out to the patio. another uncool thing was that they allowed smoking inside the club. probably because the folks doing the violating were supposed VIPs. we're in los angeles folks not vegas. btw, no eye candy whatsoever for both sexes. the male patrons are on aggressive side, more than once, my significant other and my friend had to either pull me away or pull someone off of me.
and this is where it gets good, we then went to close our tab we found out that our card was declined, so we gave them another card. in the morning, we found out that they rang our card twice for two different amounts before they charged the final amount on our second card. And then we find out that they added an extra $20 onto the tip that we gave them on our credit card!!!
so we found this place to be smoky, sleazy and plain waste of space. never again!
Dont ever go to this place. I was working an event here for a celebrity, and the owner was the BIGGEST a hole off ever I will never go here again and I do not recommend anyone go either. Why support someone that doesn't appreciate the fact that people are actually coming to his club.
Reliable dance club, some nights better than others. Element is one of the best places for dancing in Hollywood. It's got a huge dance floor, loud music and good DJs, and it's dark with swirling colored lights and often live bands and performances. I have been there many times, and it is always crowded. It's built like a warehouse, with high ceilings and low booths, and there is a disappointing VIP area as well as an outside patio. I always have a good time at Element, but it is definitely past its prime in Hollywood - it is no longer a celebrity hotspot and the crowd definitely leaves something to be desired. Tuesdays are better than Fridays, but still, the clubgoers are not that attractive or impressive. If you are looking for the hot place to be and LA's glamorous A-list, try Hyde or Les Deux instead.
