If you like whiskey this is the place to go. Beautiful, dark bar. Lots of wood. Guys love this place, therefore it's a great place for a lady to meet a gent.

Whiskey anyone? Downtown LA is flowing with spirit particulars and it will feed your most Rye self ;) Check out Seven Grand and take my challenge of seeing who makes the best Old Fashioned.

Part of the 213 Group - which were at the forefront of downtown's revitalization - this manly bar is where to take a whiskey lover. Among the Macallan offerings are the 12, 15, 18, 25 and even the 55. Live music some nights.

Nice atmo, killer whiskey selection. They have 5 different kinds of Pappy Van Winkel, which gives you an idea of the depth of the selection.

P.s. I wrote this review to test the CitySearch/Facebook interaction.

Nice little downtown place. I went here with some of my friends, maybe I am not giving this place a fair review since I don't drink, but my friends really seemed to like their selection of whiskey and other spirits. The bouncer at this place is a really nice guy, the second time we went there, he didn't even ask for ID since he remembered us. The interior reminds me of a gentleman's club with dark woods and taxidermy. Not a spot I would spend my whole evening out, but a great place to stop by and get a drink.

Packed on the weekend. It's a nice downtown bar where the crowd isn't too posh. The decor has a traditional American feel to it - and it wasn't too hard to get in. But man, it was packed on the Friday night we went. We could barely get to the bar to buy a drink. Oh, and if you smoke, there is a nice, accessible patio to chill at.

This bar made me a fan of Whisky. I was never really that into whisky before I went to this bar but they turned me around. The decor and liqour selection is great but what impressed me most was the bartenders. I have worked as a bartender before so I usually judge them harshly but they are the real deal. You can tell they take their skills very seriously and it comes through in the qualities of the drinks. It is a very masculine bar but there are a lot of women there too and they tend to be good looking and unlike most of the time in Hollywood bars, interesting to talk to.

WOW - Now this is a bar.... Dark, refined, relatively quiet, leather seats, knowledgeable bartenders, over 100 types of whisky, Chimay on tap..... You want a cool relaxed to just hang and talk - this is the place. It's a bar for adults and I hope it can stay that way.

If you're looking to dance this won't be the place but if you and the boys or your lady just want to hang out, relax, smoke a cigar and talk or just take in the soft music put this place on your list. It's worth it. I'm looking forward to going back.

Lets hope this place sticks around for a long time as downtown continues it's rebirth.

One of the best bars in Southern California. If you enjoy whiskey, fantastic drinks, great service, and a cozy environment this would be your bar of choice. The staff is friendly and helpful. When I went yesterday I asked the doormen if they could refer us to a place to eat locally and they were very helpful and suggested that we have a pizza delivered to the bar. You can do this before 9:30pm on any given night. I've read other reviews that claim that they don't allow big groups in together, but this might have been partially because this isn't really the kind of bar that you would go to with a big group. Instead it's a cozy intimate bar and an experience that you may want to share with a group of 3-4 people. Don't expect a raucous because this isn't that kind of environment. It is a relaxed bar with masculine decor, a long bar counter, great rock music playing in the background, and a few pool tables for the lucky few that arrive early enough to get them. The drinks are amazing and well balanced. If you like classic drinks they know how to make them here, but don't brush it off as merely a classic drink bar because they use a variety of ingredients including elderflower liquor and ginger in some of their drinks. Don't hesitate to ask for a drink suggestion, either, because the bartenders are accommodating and are willing to help you make a selection; I saw them doing so time and time again while sitting at the bar counter. Give them a few minutes to prepare your drink because they care about what they're serving you. Still, because they are so meticulous they may take a few minutes. Wait, it's worth it.

Drink prices vary from 8+ dollars.

Dress attire is casual.

It is located in downtown Los Angeles and you will probably run into a lot of homeless people.

If you want to grab a bite afterward there is an IHOP open 24 hours nearby.

Located near the 101/110/10 freeways

Awesome bartenders. The bartenders at Seven Grand make the place. It's dark, swanky, and often overcrowded, but the drinks are absolutely amazing, yet pricey. It's great to just grab a drink or to stay all night. Try their signature whiskey sour - it may be the best drink I've ever had.

Worst Customer Service. I have to admit, i was standing right next to the two ladies trying to get a drink, and the bartender was in fact rude to his customers. Who treats their customers like that, especially women? I heard him yelling at them about his stresses. I would be stressed too, if i got a job bartending, and couldnt bartend. It looked like the ladies were NOT interested in him at all, nor his problems, just some drinks, so get over it dude... and get a real job...

SEVEN GRAND. I was there the night of the 25th actually standing next to the whiney girl, which by the way had a small mustache, which shouldn't delay her service, but mow it down before you go out.The one who had the bad exp. with the bartender. They were completely slammed, it took her longer to WHINE about waiting so long than it would of to order her drinks. These are signature cocktails that take time and effort to make, everything is made fresh. She must be used to taco tuesday's, which i must say, I could definately tell she would wait in a line for a tacos. Whats even funnier is I heard her continually griping to her girlfriend. And she had time to go on here and complain, sounds like a crush. P.S I thought it was a cool spot and didn't mind the wait. Check this place out. peace out!

The most absurdly terrible bartender ever. Look, I should disclaim that I refuse to wait in line for anything except for coffee or tacos. After waiting in line to get in, the place somewhat redeemed itself by being above average in the interior department. We found our friends on the outdoor patio, which is pretty cool. I went for a drink and the service was so incredibly horrible that we laughed about it for the first ten minutes. Then after twenty i went around the corner of the bar thinking we had better odds of getting served if we covered more locations...Then around 25 minutes, the LA Looks gel bartender came over and I made a comment about waiting so long. He ever so professionally told me that I would " F'ing wait longer then" and walked away. He came back and I told him I understand the challenges of the service industry and perhaps he doesn't. I then had this gentleman in my face yelling about how I shouldn't tell him that he isn't doing his job and that he hasn't stopped moving all night...yeah dude, that's in the job description!

I paid $30 bucks for three drinks which consisted mainly of either tonic or juice cocktail.

The other bartenders looked like decent folks who don't yell at two young ladies just wanting a beverage. The entire end of the bar was complaining about him and then another patron tells me he's new...Here's to your long, illustrious career in the service industry d bag.
