Editorial Review for Huntington Beach Pier – by Sanne Stienstra
In Short
Extending 1,853 feet out into the Pacific Ocean, this Huntington Beach landmark boasts a tall tower that houses trained lifeguards who protect the sparkling beach below, many outdoor community happenings, including the rubber duck racing event Duck-A-Thon, and shopping and dining all around. At the beginning of the pier sits surf commemorator and Hawaiian food specialist Duke's Huntington Beach and at the end rests the fun '50s café Ruby's Diner. In either direction colorful views include sights of Catalina Island, the Newport Beach pier and San Pedro's Port of Los Angeles. Other unique highlights of the pier include the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum, the Surfer's Hall of Fame and the Huntington Beach Art Center which hosts an art fair every Friday.
