Even though I read reviews & base some decisions on them, I’m not the type to write one. However, as a happy client of Starr House I’m shocked at some recent reviews. I’m under the impression these are by the same customer using a different account. I’m a fairly new client of Starr House, I’ve received services twice & already scheduled a future appointment! Starr House is professional in every way, from the moment you walk in to when you leave. I know for some newcomers it might be intimidating to visit a salon for the 1st time. On my 1st to Starr House I went in with a color & hair cut I was bored with. Within minutes of arriving, I was greeted by my stylist & colorist. Then sat down with my colorist & immediately felt comfortable discussing my color & what I wanted. The same is true when I sat down with my stylist to discuss my cut. The stylists & colorists here listen to what YOU want & provide feedback. It’s hard to get to know someone within 5 minutes, but they make a valiant effort. I walked out of Starr House feeling like a new woman & highly satisfied with my color & cut. Before Starr House, I jumped around salons in Pasadena & Beverly Hills. Sure they’re good salons, however there is a key point missing. Most of the time they couldn’t reproduce my color/cut on my 2nd visit & I nearly had to introduce myself again, on some occasions the stylist insisted she never saw me. On my 2nd visit to Starr House, I knew i found the perfect salon! My colorist & stylist greeted me & asked follow-up questions. They asked how the color worked for me, how easy my cut was to style, & even asked about my 2 dogs that we discussed on my 1st visit. This was amazing! This is exactly what everyone should look for in a salon! Colorists & stylists who are attentive, when colorist & stylist understand what you want, they can better serve you. I will always be loyal to Starr House because of the excellent customer service I received from both my stylist & colorist!
Pros: Lots of Parking, Professional Stylist & Colorist that give Excellent Customer Service, Ambience
Cons: A Starbucks nearby would be nice

I've lived in Pasadena for a long time.. and in the circles we know what a horrible salon Starr House really is. If you go by the reviews - you would be fairly surprised how disappointed you'll be when you goto them. The truth is, Starr house signs up there customers for emails and right around the time when they are about to publish the ratings or post the best of citysearch, the salon sends out emails asking customers to write the most positive review about them for which they'll get discounts in the store.. it's a highly over rated place !!
