What People Are Saying About LAX

In Short – Having sizzled in the late '90s as the club that helped instigate Hollywood's nightlife comeback, Las Palmas has been resurrected with the help of Adam Goldstein. Also known as DJ AM, this is his first nightclub after years of playing celebrity functions ranging frm DiCaprio birthday parties to Bolthouse events at Avalon and Concorde. Gone is the Spanish flair and in its place comes a streamline space of neon windows, circular VIP booths and LAX-inspired architecture.

GREAT CROWD!

by Sammi J at Citysearch

This is one fantastic place! Great vibe, gorgeous people, we travel all over, and this had to be one of the best places I have ever seen! Elegant and crazy at the same time! The mojito is the best I have had outside of Cuba!

We met this promoter, he hooked us up with a great table, his name is Jack and He can hook you up with VIP treatment, parties, bottle service. Get in touch with him at hwguestlist@gmail

Small & Plain, Fake Promotions, Nice Bouncers

by TDay at Citysearch

It's pretty small and its decor amounts to a stone and metal car garage. Dance floor is tiny, but the DJ was playing some great songs. If you like rap and hip hop, this is the place. Of course, the promotional flyers are mostly BS. Promises of award event afterparties and celebrity hosts are usually just made up to draw crowds.

We were on the guestlist, which usually means nothing except that the promoter gets a cut for having you show up. This night, we walked up to the front, past the line, and the staff let us in pretty quickly. Of course, they did play that whole "price is right" game once we were in the door. The staff tried to get a cover charge and started with $20, then $15, then $10, or then they act like they will kick you out. It's a game most doors play whether you're on a list or not.

Usual, over-priced, weak drinks, as with most places. Just a typical Hollywood spot. Been to better and WAY worse. The bouncers are some of the friendliest around and they are not the abusive, meat heads you usually run into.

  • Pros: good music, pretty nice bouncers
  • Cons: small, over-priced, fake promotions
