Editorial Review for Club 740 – by Michael Martin
In Short
In the heart of the Broadway District, the former Globe Theater offers a three-story nightclub in a historic 1920s revival beaux-arts structure. Its main dance floor features gold-trimmed alcoves under protruding balconies, which feature plaster detailing, albeit with a Versace gold paint job. The club also offers two full bars, bottle service, go-go dancers and high-tech sound experience. Walls of glass separate private lounges on each loor, where VIPs show off their opulence at weekly electronica and hip-hop events.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyBottle service is surprisingly affordable by nightlife standards, often at around $150-$250 for premium champagne and vodka.
Know Before You GoSaturdays feature extended closing hours, often staying open until 4am to 6am, which is past the closing time of many area garages. If in doubt, park at the club.

Been there a few times on saturday nights, waited in line for about 10 minutes...no big deal. Once inside, I found it a bit more cramped than I thought it would be...Some guy with a camera running around wanted to get a pic of me, I asked him "is this for some sort of gay magazine" he said "no, its for a nightlife website" I'm onto him though, he really seemed to enjoy himself dancing alone. Anyhow; long-story-short. I've heard its been the scene of some shootings, if thats your thing then go for it!
Pros: Drunk Girls inside club
Cons: Drunk bums on sidewalks

I traveled all the way from SD to celebrate not only my b-day, but my friends as well. i used to live in L.A a while back. Anyway i had signed up for their mailing list and they had sent me a birthday postcard. two weeks b4 my bday. On the card it said to book and reserve a b-day so you can get FREE SECTION, FREE GUEST LIST, FREE DECORATIONS AND BALLOONS, AND FREE BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE....(the guy said its only on Saturdays.it didnt say taht on the card) .i said my b-day is on friday can u do for a friday? he said ok)..and the card said the doors open at 9:30....the guy who i spoke to,..and i wont mention his name..said be here b4 10pm..otherwise u gotta pay.so we get there 5minutes before 10 and the place is not even OPEN!! theres about 10 people in front of us, 6 cars in the adjacent parking lot and a homeless guy asking for spare change on the "red carpet" that we're standing on. i got to the front where the bouncer was and i told him i had made reservations, he said oh just wait in line on the opposite side.." WTF? so we do so and then 15 mins later..a beautiful looking waiter comes up and asks if we made a reservation..i told him yes, he said ok let me see what is going on..so he leaves and comes back within miniutes with the bad news.1. its Friday..and they play RAVE music,( i didnt know this b4 hand) 2. we have to pay to get in despite me telling him that i had been told that my guest list was free. 3. we could get a section but we had to pay for bottle service i said bottle service!? the cheapest bottle is$175..for a bottle of MALIBU..which is 15 bucks at the Rite Aid down the street! He finally sighs and says ok where are you coming from? i told him SD..he looks at me like im crazy..and says you came all the way here for THIs place?!!! hes all NO, go here instead. he directed us to another club! we never even STEPPED IN the damn 740!! and it was 10:45 when we had had ENOUGH! this would of been my 2nd time going here and this time was regrettable!
Pros: The waiter who helped us out
Cons: not getting the waiter's number, and everything else
