Editorial Review for Cafe Flore – by Martha Burr
In Short
Photos and paintings of Paris perch over the white tablecloths of this bright and airy storefront, while patrons linger over cafe au lait and tarte tatin. Breakfast items include croissants, French toast, pancakes and omelets. For lunch, there are gourmet salads, burgers and sandwiches. Popular dinnertime dishes include duck confit, saffron chicken and crepe Suzette. A more unusual offering is the specialty Alsatian pizza, made either traditionally with bacon, onions and sour cream, or with salmon, tomato and mushroom.

Yum! Great place to go for brunch on a Sunday morning! My favorite is the Salmon Benedict, which is a twist on Eggs Benedict, but with Salmon instead of Canadian bacon - Mmm! All their other dishes are good too. I've also had their crepes (my favorite is Amaretto with blueberries, Chicken Farsi (Breast of chicken stuffed with goat cheese and herbs), Smoked duck ravioli, -- you just can't go wrong here! And, for all you fellow coffee lovers out there, this place has GOOD coffee! I don't know about you, but having bad coffee, no matter how great the meal is, just doesn't cut it for me. Their espresso is one of the best I have had. Come early, or as a small party, cause this place can get packed quick and there'll be a bit of a wait. But trust me, it's worth it!
Pros: Good food, good price
Cons: Slow service, small venue

Last Saturday night, I invited an out of town friend and his wife for dinner and wanted to keep the tab at a reasonable amount. I picked this place based on the reviews that were posted here on CitySearch and let me tell you, I am not disappointed at all. We started the meal with some pastry stuffed with goat cheese, the owner brought us an extra serving of this with a different taste because he was trying a new recipe and wanted to know our opinion, they were both delicious. We also had some strawberry/baby spinach salad, also great tasting. For dinner, we shared pumpkin ravioli, lamb chops, salmon fettuccini, and stuffed chicken breast. I liked the chicken breast the most but everything was delicious. We topped it all with a couple of nice fruit Crepes. Again, great stuff. The service was very good, a bit slow but the place was packed. If you are going on weekend, definitely make a reservation, or be ready to wait. Take your own bottle of wine, they don’t serve any, but you can get a bottle that you like and pay one third of what you normally pay in a restaurant.
Pros: Great Food, Reasonable Price
Cons: Small, no place to wait inside.
