With many of Ventura Boulevard's gay establishments becoming straight hotspots, the former-Apache space perseveres. An interior patio leads into the dimly lit former Apache space, which is decorated with neon advertisements and even a late-night fog machine. Overlooking the modest dance floor and DJ podium, burly bartenders attend a central bar lined with arcade games and nightly event fliers. The rear billiards area entertains daytime-drinkers and Tom of Finland-types frequenting the club for its approachable singles and affordable drinks.

If you're looking for a WeHo meat market...THEN GO TO WEHO. Fuel has finally learned to cater to its actual clientele...people who love to perform, enjoy films, live music and work in the entertainment industries who happen to be (mostly) gay. The staff is friendly, the bartenders know how to pour and the owner is an all around great guy. Unfortunately, the last owner (when the place was called Apache) ran things into the ground so badly and was so universally hated by both staff and clientele alike that it's been a tough road for Fuel to reclaim its business. But I urge you all to check it out for a wonderful alternative to the flashy WeHo same ole same ole. With karaoke a few nights a week, the uber-buzzed "Fame at Fuel" singing competition every Friday, I.D. night on Thursdays (your pro I.D. gets you discounts), live music and free barbecue on Sundays and a brand new New York-style show tune video night on Mondays (the ONLY of its kind in L.A.!)...there's always something interesting going on and the cover is ALWAYS cheaper than anywhere in WeHo, when there's a cover at all. And yes, for the die-hards they still have underwear night on Wednesdays AND dancing (complete with go-go boys) on Saturdays! Oh...and parking is free...it kinda stinks (you may have to walk a little), but still...FREE. There is optional valet on Friday and Saturday nights.

The best fun I have had in a while. Underwear night, you check in your pants and shirt, walk around in your tighty whities and you get $2.00 off of every drink all night long. I am definitely going back next week. Hot guys, no attitude, lots of fun.

The 3 big "S"s apply to this place...Socialize...Sing and of course, the most important three letter "s" word is Sip...that's right I said sip... The drinks are great :-) I really like the Karaoke and Fame Singing competition nights, but there's always something going on..... The staff is fun and you can always meet a lot of interesting people to talk to or just chill with the other characters ;-) I heard there is now live music and events on Sundays I need to check out..... I don't even mind that I'm hangin in the valley ! I recommend you go, I wandered in by accident and now am a Club Fuel fan.

Save Money:
Arrive early for the weekday happy hour, between 3pm and 8pm, when beer and well drinks are discounted.
Save Time:
To avoid a long wait, get there before 10pm on busy Fridays and Saturday nights.
Parking:
Don't attempt to park on any of the adjacent hillside streets--residential restrictions make Ventura the only option.
