In Short – With a curved entrance and simple neon cocktails sign, the Friendship has been transformed into an airy cocktail hangout. Swaying curtains separate the nautically themed bar area from the main lounge, which is decorated with images of Santa Monica in the '20s. The second floor features a loft and an overlook to the low-back-chair-filled rear patio. A now predominantly straight crowd ranges from flip-flop-wearing canyon dwellers to nearby restaurant patrons dropping in for weekend DJs and neighborhood gossip.

We checked this place out of my friends b-day and it was fun BUT super busy. We got there around 10:00pm and there was a huge line. WE didn't have to wait to long but when we got inside you could not move or dance. I would recommend this place to have a drink and hanging out but not dancing. The music was good and no cover charge. The door guys where nice too not all LA crazy.
Best.... everything!!!

I never ever ever write reviews but I had to for The Hideout. I stumbled upon this place by shear luck- i was searching places to go for my 23rd bday on citysearch and out of nowhere it came up. I think they were promoting their holiday parties, so I checked it out. Being a starving artist, I couldnt drop major dough for a party, so I checked for the important things first. No cover-check. Free to book a table- Check! (They even give you a choice of bottle service or no bottle service), super easy to do on the website. And right now they are having a deal when you book the lounge you get a free bottle of champagne! who does that?! I quickly emailed the manager thinking this was too easy, or some kind of joke. Niko, the manager/bartender replied and called back super fast and was very polite. My party ended up being too small for the lounge, so we got two tables near the dj booth downstairs-perfect! best seats! He also threw in FREE champagne to toast!! unbelievable!! As a bonus the bar/lounge itself has such a great ambiance, very intimate yet gives you that party feeling. It may not be a typical "club" but after a few drinks it won't matter, you'll dance anyway. Bottomline, I found a little diamond in the rough and ended up having the best birthday party ever and didn't spend a dime!!
- Pros: no cover, free to book a table, great for parties
- Cons: 30mins from where I live (but worth it!)
