like food, great friendly atmosphere, great white pizza, great place, nice reservations, good beer, like red
great white pizza!. I went to this location about two or three times during the time I've been living in Westwood. It's a good place to hang out and watch whatever game is on. They take reservations, which is nice for a busy place like Westwood. Their Great White pizza is my favorite one there, and they give free pazookies when it's someone's birthday. What I also remember distinctly about this place is that they always seem to have sticky tables- they need to wipe better.
Great for a fun dinner with friends. BJs is a fun, loud, lively place packed with students. A young crowd always gathers to down beer and watch the game or sports highlights. It has a great atmosphere and is always warm and bustling. The food is just average and very heavy - the deep dish pizzas and avocado egg rolls end up just sitting in your stomach. I live in the area but don't go there often, seeing as how the food is nothing special and there is usually an incredibely long wait. Still, it's a fun and casual option in Westwood, and the Pizookie dessert really does live up to it's name - it's amazing.
your classic pizza n beer spot...well, that and the pizzookie.
bj's has a great atmosphere--really lively with lots of good people watching. and the servers are amazing. theyre all students or in the industry--and they work hard. ive been here enough to see that sometimes one person will be working like 10 tables and a party of 15.
i like the food--the salads (and pizzookies) are something i could eat everyday and not get tired of but itd add up here. its not that theyre expensive but bjs is the kinda place that you go to with all your buddies, after a movie or a game, for an org dinner. its not a "ooh lets go out and try something new" kinda place. but it has those kind of prices. the beer is good--i like the hef and red, very smooth. i also love the spinach and art pizza and the cobb salad.
Great food, friendly service- what more can you ask for?. BJ's has terrific food, friendly service, and a great, young atmosphere. Definitely not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner, but excellent for dining out with friends. Close to UCLA campus, it's within walking distance from the dorms, so you get a lot of college kids waiting for a table on Friday nights. Go at an off hour like 5 or 9 to get seated a lot fasters. Pizzas are great, served Chicago style with a deep-dish crust. Don't leave without trying a pizzookie- a pizza inspired cookie.
Try their thin crust pesto and cilantro pizza!. LOTS OF GREAT OPTIONS AND A NICE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE! But you may find a long line at peak times...
Aren't all BJs the same?. The food is pretty decent for what it is. I was impressed with the number of refills I got, considering how crowded it was.
A chain microbrewery satisfies with comfort-food classics and award-winning beers..
BJ's boasts a trendy reclaimed-barn look with vaulted redwood beams. Eclectic touches abound; rococo mirrors sparkle against corrugated-iron walls and the odd chandelier sprouts absentmindedly amidst Art Deco lamps. The bar area boasts beer-label posters and the ubiquitous big-screen TV blaring the big game on ESPN.
The extensive, carbo-loaded menu is perfect for buffering those home brews. The bruschetta, loaded with tomatoes, is a favorite and the minestrone is stew-thick with a hint of oregano. The fish and chips gives mixed results: wedge-cut fries are seasoned and crispy; but the doughy, Blonde Ale-battered cod flounders without its tartar sauce. The pizzas are deep-dish, robust pies; the Spinach & Artichoke is lusciously creamy--a perfect yin-yang experience when split with spicy blackened chicken in an Alfredo sauce. For dessert, try a deep-dish Pizookie. The massive white-chocolate cookie comes studded with macadamias and topped with vanilla bean ice cream. BJ's home-brewed root beer float makes for another sweet ending.
