Editorial Review for Cucina Paradiso – by Sarah Colombo
In Short
Wooden-arched doors open into a cozy dining room, where seat-fillers include grown-up Venice surf punks and execs from nearby Culver City lots. A brown, granite bar top accommodates ladder-climbers perpetually on the clock, while linen-draped tables encourage lingering meals. A rotating art collection displayed on soft, yellow walls compliments Italian cuisine offset with California flair. Popular selections include pumpkin ravoli in sage sauce, and risotto with shrimp and lobster sauce. The adjoining Palmer Room club features live jazz.

I felt compelled to write this review it was the weirdest and worst dining experience I have ever had. We went for the new brunch theyve been advertising (we live close by) & decided to try it. First of all, we were the only people in there and 1 waitress working. The place was dark, a window was busted out and had plywood covering the windows, after finally being greeted after standing at the front for 10 mins. we sat down & placed our order. The "bottomless" mimosas are not bottomless you get 1 unless you pay a way higher price for bottomless option. Another couple walks in, places their order, receives it while we still havent gotten ours...waitress is no where to be found ( I swear she was probably cooking too!)...after about at least 45mins to an hour we FINALLY get our food. At this point we are already upset and our drinks havent been filled, for the waitress to tell us that they ran out of bananas for our crepes & went to the store to get them! WHO would leave a customer sitting for that long to eat instead of asking if we wanted an alternative first??!! To top it off the food was mediocre. Do not go here for brunch! I am not sure about the other reviews for dinner but my guess is this place wont be in business much longer. Completely empty and apparently for a reason, I had to warn other diners.
Pros: None
Cons: Service, Overpriced

I went here alone for dinner and had the green and white fettucine, bread pudding, and a starter salad with pears and gorgonzola. It was delicious, especially the bread pudding, I would say it is the best I have ever had! I will definitely be back!
Pros: great food!
