Despite its great location MELROSE, near the Paramount studios--Pueblo Viejo lacks any "viejo" or vintage real Mexican taste and presentation. I ordered the "carnitas" (roasted pork), and right from the moment it was placed in front of me I realized something was wrong. The portion was poor, it's presentation pathetic, and when I started to look for the "carne" (meat), every other piece was a piece of FAT. I know good Mexican food. I come from a traditional "Jalisco/Aguascalientes" family. Carnitas are supposed to be lean, roasted chunks of pork. What I got was a pathetic attempt at this traditional dish. When asked what else they could do for us; we were encouraged to order tequila shots. Is this the way they hope customers will avoid taking notice of poor presentation, portion, and taste? Ah, another thing--please put the cleaning products away from the main dining room. Owner....please invest in a restaurant consultant.

Pros: The fresh jicama and carrot sticks

Cons: taste, presentation, and portion

Though everybodys entiltled to their own opinion, most of this people who have left theirs just arent really smart enough, {the bad ones}. Just like the title says, best everything. Though it took a few more minutes for food, I know its fresh and not microwavable! Honestly this guys most work for another mexican resturant and are ignorant, cause if you were to ask anybody there 9 out of 10 will say its the best mexican resturant ever!! Best thing is for new people to go check it out! For me I'm never influenced by other peoples opinions unless positive!!

Pros: Food, Service,Price, Drinks!!

Cons: Could take a few more minutes on a busy night for your dinner
