Worse than so-so. I was really happy when this place opened because it's close to my house and I love Thai food, but after giving it two tries?I'm done. It's kind of funny that it used to be a McDonalds because it seems to me that it's a Thai version of that now. The food was bland and all tasted like it came out of a package. I had Pad Thai and it just tasted like black pepper. I prefer Thai Paradise on Las Tunas. They have an awesome Sizzling Spinach dish that has a crazy good peanut sauce on it (I want some NOW). Order that with the beef and you'll never regret it.

Great Thai Food. Food was great. We love the basil soft shell crab and papaya salad dishes. Price are okay. And they are pretty consistent with the taste.

good food bad service. The food was good?.There was not a lot of people but the service was SLOW...

sitting was prompt ....they took a long time to take our order...they took for ever to take us our drinks....then another long while to take us our food....when it came time to pay we decided to go to the cash register to pay because they were taking a long time to come to us. I do have to say the staff was nice.

Not as good as it used to be. We used to really like this place, but the last few times have been very inconsistent. We used to order their BBQ chicken and for the first few times, it was really good. The last few times we ordered it To-Go, and it was disgusting. Usually they give you different parts of the chicken (various dark and white meat pieces), but the past 2 times they gave us super dry white meat and I couldn't even tell what part of the chicken it was. To be honest, it seemed like it was the left over dry white meat from previous days and it smelled like dog food. What's weird is that we have ordered this dish numerous time before, but it came out this way 2 out of the last 3 times. We can't see why the same dish would be so drastically different on a random basis. After that, we're scared to order To-Go and don't know what to expect about the food now.

I'm going back on Tuesday!. There's a large salt water fish tank in here. My boyfriend is a fish hobbyist, so we just had to go. Boy were we glad we stopped by. The food was great and the best part was the Thai tea. You get a large glass of it, (twice the size as other restaurants) and it has crushed ice, which is the best kind of ice to have with Thai tea.

The restaurant is set away from the busier side of Valley Blvd, so if it weren't for the bright fish tank lights, I may not have ever discovered this place. Plus it used to be a McDonalds, which is pretty obvious from the outside, so that doesn't scream authentic Thai food. But if you go, you won't be disappointed.

Best Thai food in Alhambra. Best Thai food in Alhambra. Reasonable price. A bit slow on the service, especially during the weekend. For take out, make sure call 30 minutes in advance.

Worst Wonton Soup Ever. This restaurant is nearby my work, so I can't help but order out when I'm in the mood for Thai. They have one of the best red curries ever, but seriously the worst wonton soup I've ever had. I was thinking about taking it back, but I'm not that rude. This place is not the worst, but not the best either.

Super Slow Service Saturday Night. cDonalds decor. 3 servers, no hostess/cashier, probably only 3 cooks in the kitchen and maybe 1 busboy for the whole restaurant, and probably 50-60 customers, explains the super slow service. It took forever for the server to take our order, forever to bring our drinks, and eternity to bring our food, which we had to ask for. We got tom yum gai, chicken curry, papaya salad, crisp catfish, and pineapple fried rice (which came 10 minutes after everything else). Food is not that good either, not authentic Thai, its with Vietnamese flavors (President Thais authentic). It definitely wasnt worth the wait nor frustrations. The party of three next to us left before their food came because it took so long. Maybe its not like this all the time based on the other reviews, but for us, it was a sucky experience. $43 total, but most Asian restaurants are inexpensive anyway.

This was our first negative review. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. I try not to use the excuse that we're a new restaurant but there is no doubt that we've gone through some growing pains. We've had such a tremendous response to our food that it has been a challenge at times to keep up. Thank you for your comments, we feel like we're getting better despite the occasional hiccup. No restaurant makes Thai food the same way and everybody has their favorites. For you it must be President and that's great. But we stand by our chefs and so do the tons of regulars we've accumulated during our first year.

Best deal in town. The Green Papaya is ideal for lunch or dinner: excellent food, large portions and friendly service. They have an extensive menu and offer a variety of flavorful soups, fresh salads and exotic desserts. I highly recommend all of their soups, the papaya salad and their mango ice cream (you have to try their desserts)! Everything on The Green Papaya's menu (including their cocktails) is reasonable priced and perfect for people/couples who dine out frequently. It's a healthy alternative to fast food at comparable prices.
